1 HOOP SCOOP Volume 2, Issue 1 November 11 th 2014 WELCOME TO THE COUGAR BASKETBALL NEWSLETTER FROM THE DESK OF COACH EGANS: First, I would like to personally welcome you to this season s first issue of Hoop Scoop. Aside from developing a great culture and putting a winning product on the floor, one of my main objectives as head coach is to remain connected to our Crosby High School alums, faculty and community friends of the basketball program. We work extremely hard to promote a family atmosphere, which allows you to always feel a part of our basketball family. This is your program! Your support and help in building and maintaining a culture of winning basketball is needed and I personally want you to take an active role in your basketball program. This starts with our student body, community members, and faculty and CHS alums coming out to support our hardworking athletes during competition. 2 Season Opener Set for November 18 th vs. Baytown Sterling Since the start of practice October 29 th, the players have been hard at work perfecting Coach Egans fast-paced system on both ends of the floor. Featuring in-your-face, full court pressure defense combined with fast-paced offense predicated on spacing and sprinting, the Cougars will look to wreak havoc on their opponents throughout the season. The Cougars are expecting to be led by Seniors Aaron Brown, Jackson Godoy and Juniors Shane Hudson, TJ Lang. This year s team will be looking to make a major statement by reestablishing themselves as the district s best. After enjoying the success of three consecutive district championships and top 20 state rankings, the 2014 season became tough to endure due to injuries. Now with the influx of talented new players everyone s excited about the opportunity to compete in the upcoming season. It s What We Do!!! HAVOC It s Who We Are!!!
