3 TENNIS REVIEW NOLAN KELLY, DIRECTOR OF TENNIS Dear Tennis Friends, I hope everyone is having a good summer and have found ways to stay cool! Make sure to stay hydrated, especially when on the Tennis Courts. Pitchers of ice water and cold towels are available in the Tennis Centre upon request. If you are looking f a fun trip away from the heat, August 6th-12th is the $100,000 Men s Challenger at Seascape in Aptos, Califnia. Unftunately, we will not be sending ball kids this year, but we look to be back next year with our first-class kids. If your kids are interested in participating next year, please contact Nolan in the Tennis Centre. Copper River Tennis will be hosting the USTA Juni Team Tennis playoffs, Saturday and Sunday, August 11th & 12th. Tennis courts will be reserved f member use, so please check-in at the Tennis Centre f court assignment. TACC Juni Tennis Tournament: Saturday, August 4th, Copper River will be holding another TACC Juni Tournament. These one-day round robin tournaments are a great way to start your kids in ganized tennis competition. Entries are open to players 18 and under, with 5 different skill levels to fit the needs of your child. To register find out me, please visit: Friday Ladies Day & Saturday Shot of the Week: Friday Ladies Day and Saturday Shot of the week clinic will not be held during the month of August. All clinics will resume first week of September. Fall Clinic Schedule (September) Monday Drop-In Clinic Time: 6-7 PM Cost: $15 This clinic is open to all levels, Men and Women. Come out and improve your tennis, get some exercise, and have some fun! Tuesday Men s Clinic Time: 6-7 PM Cost: $15 This Clinic is open to Men of all levels. Plan to get your sweat on, and wk on your game with the guys. Wednesday Adult Beginner Clinic Time: 6-7 PM This clinic is open to men and women wanting to learn the basics and get started in this great spt. Plus, it s a great way to meet other players of a similar skill level. Thursday Adult Clinic/Drills Time: 6-6:30 PM This is a great warmup activity pri to your evening match play. Friday Ladies Day Time: 9-11 AM Free 30-minute clinic with Coach Cuyler, followed by doubles play. It s a great way to start your Friday! Saturday Shot of the Week Clinic Time: 9-10 AM Cost $10 This Clinic is open to all levels and ages and we encourage family participation. During this camp, the teens were challenged with a large variety of movements to help build strength and increase their metabolic conditioning. They learned how to lift and wkout properly, through functional, compound, and isolated movements, all while focusing on proper fm, technique, and body mechanics. Coach Aaron would like to thank all the teens who came out to participate and how proud he is of their hard wk, efft, and drive to invest in their health and fitness. He knows that what they learned during his 5-week clinic will last them f a lifetime. NEW CLASS Cardio Jam with Michael Come jam with Michael as he mixes in dance moves and ce training during this 60-minute hip hop / groove class. 5:30pm (Beginning August 3rd) COMING SOON!!! I am so excited to announce that myself, along with three other group exercise instructs, will be certified in the new fitness craze Strong by Zumba program at the end of this month! Strong by Zumba combines high intensity interval training, where every move is synced to a beat, pushing you harder to give it everything you ve got, and then some. Classes will be offered in the early and midmning time slots, plus a few evening times as well. Keep an eye out f infmation regarding our special kick-off event happening in September, so you can come get a taste of the Strong by Zumba program. It will be an amazing evening as we introduce this new program to the members and enjoy some delicious food from Chef Adam.
