2 FITNESS GROUP EXERCISE PROGRAMS Group exercise schedules are posted monthly in-house and on our website. Check each month for new classes. The cost is $60.00 for a 10 visit pass or a drop in rate of $8.00. BEGINNING YOGA - Experience balance and harmony through a slow and mindful practice designed to release tension, reduce stress, and promote relaxation. Be prepared to enjoy an energizing and refreshing yoga experience! Please bring your own yoga mat. Instructor: Judy. ZUMBA FITNESS - Are you ready to party yourself into shape? It s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie burning dance fitness party that s moving millions of people around the world toward joy and health. Zumba Fitness incorporates Latin and an international rhythm to create a challenging workout that is like a fitness party! Instructor: Holly. SHAPE AND CYCLE - NEW! A combination of strength training using dumbells, medicine balls, bands, and cycle-cardio, 30 minutes each! Come get a full body workout in just an hour and have fun doing it! Instructor: Kelly. SENIORS/VETERANS GET FIT- This is not a SilverSneakers class, but all seniors and veterans of any age are encouraged to attend! This 30 minute class starts with a quick warm-up, stretching and then movement. Specifically desgined to work out those kinks. Instructor: Holly. AB EXTREME - Ab Extreme is a fast paced high energy core workout with lots of variety! Exercisers use one s body-weight for resistance so the workout can be tailored to any fitness level. In addition to getting your abs in shape, this class will provide a comprehensive workout to enhance your core stability. Instructor: Heather. CYCLING - Indoor group exercise performed on stationary bikes. Class includes the simulation of hill-climbing, sprints, and races. You will be kept motivated by the instructor, the people around you, and the music! A fantastic cardiovascular workout. Water and a towel are a must! Instructors: Kelly, Meghan and Rachel. HARD CORE - This is an up-tempo, core-intensive full body strength and conditioning workout. This class will utilize tools such as medicine balls, BOSU balls, free weights, as well as, body weight exercises. Instructor: Rachel. TOT TOWN BARRE FITNESS - Barre fitness is a ballet infused exercise that incorporates Pilates, Yoga, and dance to give your arms, core, glutes, legs and shoulders the definition of a dancer. Tone, lengthen, and sculpt your entire body and improve your balance, all while having fun working out! Instructor: Heather. PiYo - This program combines the muscle sculpting, core firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility of Yoga, but at a faster pace. Crank up the music and the fun with this calorie burning workout. All levels welcome. Participant must bring own sticky mat. Instructor: Melissa. INDOOR WALKING - We are pleased to announce that we now offer an early morning Indoor Walking program on our tennis courts! Plan to kick off your indoor winter fitness program, without having to fight the elements. Monday - Friday 6:00-7:30 A.M. Tot Town is for children walking to 9 years old and is a fun and safe environment to drop off your child while you exercise. Our staff will assist your child with fun games and toys. Pre-registration is suggested, please call ahead to reserve your time, space is limited to 8 children. 5 Tiny Tumblers - Ages walking to 2 This class will introduce your toddler to fun, age-appropriate activites in the gym. Pre-school gymnastic equipment, tunnels, scooters, bean bags, and music will be used daily. Class will aid large muscle development, as well as, increase socialization. Participants will also learn basic hand-eye coordination, building techniques, and games. Sports Opportunities & Active Recreation is an organization that offers after work sports, recreation and wellness activities for adults with developmental disabilities. Founded in 2005, SOAR! offers programs in a varity of activities such as walking, aerobics, dancercize, water aerobics, fitness walking, baseball, indoor games, outdoor games and bocce ball. Late stay ends at 5:30 P.M. Early/Late stay an additional cost per week. Residents $25.00 per week, Non-Residents $35.00 per week. ADULT & YOUTH PROGRAMMING Back and better than before! Kids grades K-8 join us on days off school over the holidays. We will skate, swim, play, and make crafts. Join us for one day only or all of them as registration is based on the day. Each day send children with: healthy lunch, drink, swimming suit, towel, tennis shoes, socks, and gloves for skating. Camp will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. each day. Early arrival/late stay will be available from 7:30-9:00 a.m. and 4:00-5:30 p.m. for $5.00 per day. WINTER: December 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30 SPRING: March 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28 Residents: $25.00 per day. Non-Residents: $30.00 per day. Camp is open to children entering grades K-8 for the school year. Newformat for 2016 groups will be grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8. Camp will take place at North Olmsted Recreation Center and North Olmsted Park. Campers will participate in swimming, ice skating, arts and crafts, outside fun and optional field trips. A free lunch program provided by North Olmsted City Schools is available. Bonus camp available by the day: June 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and August 22, 23, 24, 25, 26. Residents $25.00 per day. Non-Residents $30.00 per day. Wabi-Sabi Art - Ages 5-11 Join us for another exciting round of Wabi-Sabi Art Class! This session will be centered on working with paints, tissue paper, construction paper, and many more materials in order to create and remake famous paintings or our own creations based on those paintings. Featuring artists such as Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh, and O Keefe. As always, the final week will be anything goes, so make sure you come with ideas too! Saturdays, January 9 - February 13 12:00-1:00 P.M. Resident - $45.00 Non-Resident - $ st & 2nd Grade Coed Basketball Clinic This instructional clinic covers and reviews basketball fundamentals. The clinic will cover teamwork and the rules of the game. Players will receive the opportunity to play in actual game situations. This clinic will be taught by 10 year high school coach and owner of West Side Sports, Matt Svetz. Saturdays, January 9 - February 13 Class 1: 10:00-11:00 A.M. This 6 v 6 league will be coached by volunteer parent coaches. Practices begin the week of February 17, with games starting March 7. Ages 7-9 Division Ages Division Registration deadline February 1. Little Hoop Stars Instructional and recreational basketball program for children in preschool and grade K. Players are taught the basics of dribbling, passing, shooting, positioning, defense and rebounding in a fun-oriented program. They will then apply what they have learned in low competition games. Thursdays, January 14 - February 18 Class 1: 5:30-6:30 P.M. Class 2: 6:30-7:30 P.M. Class held at Birch Primary School Fee of $70.00 with a nominal convenience fee. Includes NBA replica t-shirt and a basketball medal. Must register online at Co-Ed Volleyball Clinic - Grades 1-6 In this fun and instructional program all fundamentals will be taught, including serves, sets, slams, blocks, returns, positioning, and team strategy. Whether your child is an experienced player or complete novice, they will have a blast and learn a lot about the sport in this fun and innovative program! Wednesdays, January 13 - February 17 Held at Pine School: 4267 Dover Center Road Grades 1-3: 5:30-6:30 P.M. Grades 4-6: 6:30-7:30 P.M. Register online@jumpstartsports.com Fee: $70.00 (Includes t-shirt and volleyball medal). Adult OpenVolleyball Supervised session for adults only, ages 18 and over, and out of High School. Pre-registration is mandatory and limited to 30 players. Players will be randomly organized at the starting time by the site supervisor. 8 Coed T-ball League This league stresses the fundamentals of playing baseball. Boys and girls ages 4 and 5 will play a 10 game season starting the week of June 6. Games will be played on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings. Resident: $53.00 Non-Resident: $66.00 Boys Baseball Leagues Teams from surrounding areas will play a 14 game season which will be followed by a season ending tournament. Games will start mid-may with practices starting mid April. Players will be evaluated and then evenly distributed between teams. These leagues are run for the enjoyment and development of the participants. Emphasis shall be placed on participation and skill development. Players will be evaluated and then evenly distributed between teams. Evaluations will be held at the North Olmsted Recreation Center Sunday, April 10. Practices will start mid April with the season beginning late May. 10U League Ages U League Ages U League Ages Non-Resident: $99.00 for 10U and 12U Leagues $ for 15U and 18U Leagues Resident - $68.00 Non-Resident - $83.00 FOR ALL YOUTH SOFTBALL & BASEBALL A participant s age on May 1 determines ages for all leagues. Registration opens February 1 and closes on April 3. Registrations received after April 3 will be placed on a waiting list. Makeup games for all leagues may be scheduled on days other than their normal scheduled day of play. Every effort will be made to make up cancelled games. In leagues with tournaments at their conclusion, it may be difficult to accomodate all cancelled games. These leagues will stress the fundamentals of playing baseball and softball. Children ages 6 thru 8 will play a 10 game season starting the week of June 6. Games will be played on Wednesdays and Saturdays for girls and Tuesdays and Saturdays for boys. Spring Flag Football Teams from North Olmsted will play teams from surrounding areas. This league will be divided into 2 divisions, 6-8 years and 9-11 years old. Registration opens February 1. Registration deadline March 1. Resident - $59.00 Non-Resident - $76.00 Lacrosse The North Olmsted Recreation Department is interested in creating Lacrosse Clinics/Leagues for children. Baseball Skills Clinic This clinic is for boys and girls interested in enhancing their skills in baseball. These seperate clinics will focus on pitching, hitting/bunting and fielding.
