1 Faculty Tutorial: Log In To MyHills Purpose: To show faculty how to log in to MyHills. From the Indian Hills Community College homepage ( click on Quick Links in the upper, left corner. Select MyHills Portal from the drop-down menu. Indian Hills Community College Page 1 of 13

2 You are now on the MyHills Portal Login page. Enter your Username and Password in the spaces provided. Note: A faculty or staff members username is usually the first initial of his/her first name, followed by up to seven letters of his/her last name. A faculty or staff username will never be more than eight letters long and will be all lowercase letters. Once you enter your username and password, click Login. 3 How to Change Your Password If you forget your password or would like to change your password, click Forgot Your Password? on the MyHills Login page. The Password Maintenance page will open. Type your USERNAME in the box provided. Indian Hills Community College Page 3 of 13

4 Then, click SUBMIT. The Your Security Question page will open. Type your seven digit Employee Number in the YOUR ANSWER box. Indian Hills Community College Page 4 of 13

5 Then, click SUBMIT. The Change Your Password page will open. Your username should appear in the USERNAME box. Indian Hills Community College Page 5 of 13

6 Type your new password in the NEW PASSWORD box. Your new password must be six to nine characters in length, and must contain at least one capital letter, one lowercase letter, and one number. Then, re-type your NEW PASSWORD in the CONFIRM NEW PASSWORD box. Note: Remember, your new password must be six to nine characters in length, and must contain at least one capital letter, one lowercase letter, and one number. 7 Then, click SUBMIT. The Change Your Password page will open. Your password has been changed when the message Your password has been changed appears Note: The password you use to log in to MyHills is the same password you use to log in to WebAdvisor and Student WebMail. So, if you change it here, you are changing it everywhere. Select Click here to return to the MyHills Portal Login page.. Indian Hills Community College Page 7 of 13

8 What is My User ID and Employee Number? From the Indian Hills Community College homepage ( click on Quick Links in the upper, left corner. Select WebAdvisor from the drop-down menu. Indian Hills Community College Page 8 of 13

9 You are taken to the WebAdvisor Log In page. Click What s my User ID? to retrieve both your User ID, and your Employee Number. Indian Hills Community College Page 9 of 13

10 On the What s my User ID? page, type your last name and your Social Security Number (SSN) in the spaces provided. Note: You must type both your Last Name and your SSN to access your User ID and Employee Number. Your SSN may be entered with or without dashes. Then, click Submit. 11 Your User ID and Employee Number (which is listed to the right of Student # ) will appear. Note: Since this is the same process used by students to find their User ID and Student Number, your Employee Number is listed as a Student Number. How to Log Out of MyHills Now, log in to MyHills, as described earlier in this tutorial. After logging in, you should see your personal MyHills Home page. Note: For information on the various parts of this page, please see the tutorial Navigate and Manage Your MyHills Home Page, available in the faculty tutorials area of the Indian Hills website: Indian Hills Community College Page 11 of 13

12 When you are ready to exit MyHills, click the Logout button in the upper-right corner. Note: It is VERY important that you click both the Logout button, and then close your internet browser, to log out of MyHills. If you do not complete both of these steps, and are using a public computer, another person could access your MyHills account. You will be taken back to the MyHills Portal Login page. 13 Click the X in the upper-right corner of your browser to completely log out of the system. Congratulations! You now know how to log in to MyHills, change your password, and log out.
