4 Faculty Abraham Bejil, BMET is a native west Texan with nearly 20 years of health care technology experience. He is currently the director of facilities services and clinical engineering at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, TX. He has had an upward progression in his career starting as a BMET in the U.S. Air Force and as a field engineer for many medical imaging manufacturers ending with Philips Healthcare. He worked his way up into a leadership position at Midland Memorial Hospital and has continued to diversify his knowledge and skill sets in facility maintenance, construction and design and information management systems, and recently received his certification as a health care operation professional. In this position he oversees construction and design, facility maintenance, central plant operations, health care technology and business operations. Becky Bennett, RN, has been a registered nurse since 1988 and began her nursing career as a surgical nurse. She worked in the main operating room at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences for a period of time before accepting a position as director of nursing for an ambulatory surgery center in Little Rock, which sparked her interest in regulatory compliance. She was a management and compliance consultant for ambulatory surgery centers before accepting a position with health facility services as a surveyor. Since December 2015, she has held the position of section chief, overseeing survey, certification, enforcement, licensing and rule making for health facility services with the Arkansas Department of Health. Lindsey Brackett is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and has nine years of experience in the health care engineering and construction industry ranging from the development and management of over $370 million in specialized energy solutions and infrastructure projects, health care engineering consulting and facilities management education and training. She is the president of Legacy FM, which she co-founded for the sole purpose of developing and implementing empowerment programs for facility management teams. Lindsey also serves as American Society for Healthcare Engineering, (ASHE) faculty for the ASHE Energy to Care Program. Marcus Elliott is the director of corporate health services at Conway Regional Health System. In this position, he serves as the health systems representative to community employers and oversees Conway Regional s athletic training area as well as the Diabetes Self-Management Education program. Elliott has more than 12 years combined experience as an executive sales representative and territory manager with Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals and Medtronic Diabetes medical devices, as well as eight years with Alltel Communications, serving five years in sales as the manager and then vice president of retail sales. Elliott is a licensed minister previously starting and pastoring the nondenominational ministry Church 228. In addition, he has served as campus pastor for the New Life Church at the downtown Little Rock campus. Elliott is a former all-conference football player for the Arkansas Razorbacks, where he served as captain of the 84 team. A graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Elliott stays connected to sports and the Hogs through regular appearances on Drivetime Sports Talk, a popular radio show carried statewide on The Buzz. Marcus and his wife, Ramona, have three adult children. Matt Hanna is the healthcare business development manager for Phoenix Controls. He has his Bachelors of Science in allied health and applied science from the University of Dayton and a Masters of Science in physiology from East Carolina University. He has spent his entire professional career selling medical technology, including high-tech medical devices and Enterprise IoT solutions. Matt started with Phoenix Controls in October of 2018 to spearhead their health care technology solution and bring national recognition to this novel BMS technology. George Mills is the director of technical operations and provides health care expertise to the JLL health care program. He supports account teams with innovation, program development and ensures the goals of higher reliability are achieved. He was formerly the director for the department of engineering at The Joint Commission (TJC), providing standards interpretation and education to TJC surveyors and accredited organizations. George is also a nationally recognized speaker and author. Previously, he served as senior engineer for the standards interpretation group in the division of accreditation and certification operations at TJC. He has over 30 years of experience in the health care setting with previous experience in the construction industry and structural steel fabrication. Prior to joining TJC, he served as a director of facilities and held national positions related to codes and standards, including serving as director of codes & compliance for ASHE and as a consultant. Clay Seckman, PE, HFDP began his career with Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. in 1979 as a mechanical engineer. In 1984, he moved to Houston to be part of the firm s first branch office. Clay oversaw the Houston office for 12 years before moving back to Nashville. Today, he serves as the health care market leader. Clay graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and is a registered professional engineer in seven states. He serves on several health care industry committees with the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) and recently co-authored ASHE s Health Facility Commissioning Guidelines and the subsequent Handbook. He is a frequent speaker at health care industry events and is noted for his knowledge of Integrated Project Delivery. For fun, Clay is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys duck hunting. He and his wife have three adult children. Ken Staab is the director of sales and marketing for The InterMed Group. He is responsible for delivering medical equipment asset management for over 25 years. His services include both service and equipment sales in biomedical and imaging categories, as well as deployment of the unique "Jump Team" rapid engineering response services nationwide.
