The Spartans defeated Penn State last week and now sit atop the division, tied with Ohio State. The Buckeyes come into this game off their worst game in years, a loss at Iowa. Michigan State, a traditional power-running team, has found success through the air this season behind the strong quarterback play from sophomore Brian Lewerke. Ohio State features one of the more balanced offenses in the country, but has struggled in obvious passing situations. If the Spartans can pin down the Buckeyes running game, Michigan State may be able to steal a game in Columbus and take over the driver s seat in the East Division title race. Washington at Stanford Fri., Nov. 10, 7:30 pm PT, FS1 Many people had the Pac-12 counted out of the College Football Playoff race, but Washington might have something to say about that. The Huskies have the toughest part of their schedule in front of them, starting with Stanford this week. The Cardinal have struggled over their last two games with an ailing Bryce Love, the nation s leading rusher. Without Love, Stanford barely snuck past Oregon State, Love returned last week, but had a season-low 69 yards in a loss to Washington State. The Bulldogs beat Notre Dame back in week two, but that was before the Irish had put it all together. The Bulldogs rank No. 8 in the country in rushing offense (279.3 yards per game) and No. 3 in points against (11.7 points per game allowed). Auburn, on the other hand, has been rolling on offense recently, as the Tigers have scored 42 or more points in five of their last six games. Tigers transfer quarterback Jarrett Stidham s play has been a major deciding factor in the outcome of Auburn s games. Players of the Week: Week 10 Dante Pettis, WR Washington The senior receiver set the NCAA record for career punt return touchdowns in a 38-3 win over Oregon. His ninth career return touchdown came on a 64-yard return, in which he also broke the Pac-12 record for career punt return yards. Pettis added four catches for 87 yards and a receiving touchdown to cap his historic day. Nate Stanley, QB Iowa Stanley led the Hawkeyes to a win over Ohio State on Saturday and tossed five touchdown passes in the process, becoming only the second Iowa quarterback with multiple games with five touchdown passes. Stanley completed 20 of 31 passes in the game for 226 yards.

The College Football Playoff rankings are selected by a 13-person committee of current athletic directors, former college football coaches, a University President, a former NCAA executive, and a current media member. The committee will issue its first rankings Tuesday, October 31, with subsequent rankings taking place the next five weeks. The game was initially postponed from September 9 due to Hurricane Irma. It was unclear if the game would be rescheduled at that time, but the Seminoles struggles this season have made rescheduling the game almost a necessity if FSU wants to make a bowl game for the 36th straight season. Army defeated Air Force last week without attempting a pass Army didn t attempt a pass in its 21-0 win over Air Force on Saturday. With quarterback Ahmad Bradshaw leading the way on the ground, there was no need. Bradshaw had a national- and career-best 265 yards rushing for the week on 23 carries in the win. The 5-foot-11, 205-pound senior is now 10th in the country with an average of yards rushing per game, and he s led the Black Knights to a 7-2 record while completing only 10 of 35 passes for 190 yards this season. UCLA QB Josh Rosen feels great, should play Saturday Despite not yet passing his final test in the concussion protocol, UCLA Bruins quarterback Josh Rosen said he expects to play Saturday against Arizona State. Rosen said the final test has to do with reaction and memory. Doctors will also test to see if he still has any concussion-like symptoms remaining and see how he feels before they officially clear him to play in Saturday s game.
