Highlights for March 3 Hollin Hall Senior Center for Creative Retirement Sign Up for Tai Chi March 1 Sign up for Beginning Tai Chi with Volunteer Instructor, Tom Yeh Classes begin May 2 According to the Mayo Clinic, tai chi can help you improve your balance, coordination and flexibility; regulate your body weight and blood pressure; and improve your overall quality of life. Tai chi, which is a gentle Chinese martial art that involves fluid, choreographed movements, is an effective exercise for seniors, as it's low-impact, can be performed anywhere and yields significant health benefits. If you're a senior, consider participating in tai chi on a regular basis. Read more:

13 March/April 3 38 Hollin Hall Senior Center Inclement Weather Policy REVISED 3 When Fairfax County Public Schools cancel classes for the day: Senior Programs and Senior Centers: All senior programs, activities and events, including lunch and transportation by FASTRAN at all senior centers are cancelled. Hollin Hall Senior Center will open for resource and weather emergency information. Please call the center before leaving your home for updated center information and possible cancellations: When Fairfax County Public Schools have a delayed opening: Senior Programs and Senior Centers: Senior centers will be open. There will be no transportation by FASTRAN and no lunch service at sites served by Fairfax County Public Schools. Activities prior to 10:00 am are cancelled. Other activities and classes may also be cancelled. Please call the center before leaving your home for updated center information and possible cancellations: When Fairfax County Public Schools have early release: Senior Programs and Senior Centers: All afternoon senior programs, activities and events are cancelled at the senior centers beginning at noon.
