3 ONGOING EVENTS & SERVICES VolunTEENS - Teen Advisory Council Main Library - Wednesdays, March 20, April 17, May 15-5 p.m. South Oxnard Branch - Thursdays, March 28, April 25, May 23-4:30 p.m. If you are in 7th through 12th grade and are interested in making a difference in upcoming library events, join the Teen Council! This will be a fun experience and it looks great on a college application! For more information - (805) Computer Use All Oxnard libraries offer free 60 minutes per day computer use with Internet access and a variety of word processing options on a walkin basis. Pay-to-use computers are offered at the Main Library and South Oxnard Branch Library if additional time is needed. Call or stop by your nearest library for more information. Wireless Internet Access at the Library Free wireless access is available at ALL Oxnard Library Branches for patrons with library cards and using their own wireless capable devices during open hours. Adult Literacy Program - (805) The Adult Literacy Program at the Oxnard Public Library provides FREE personalized tutoring to adults who would like to improve their reading or writing skills. The program is free to any English speaking adult, age 18 or older, who can meet with a volunteer tutor once a week at the Main Library. Each learning session lasts approximately one hour. Adult learners and tutors must commit to at least three months of working together. Become a Volunteer at the Adult Literacy Center - (805) Work one-to-one with a learner to improve reading, writing, math, GED prep or citizenship skills. Volunteers must be able to commit to at least three months of tutoring at a time. English Conversation Group Tuesdays 10:30 a.m. - Main Public Library Homework Center Each week we get together to practice our English in an informal, friendly space. Volunteer Opportunities There are many volunteer opportunities whether it is teaching adults to learn to read, helping children with their homework assignments, or being a VolunTeen.
