2 Welcome to Valley Tennis a great outlet for those wanting more from their club TENNIS POLICIES Register for all tennis lessons and tennis events through the Valley Country Club website or contact the Tennis Shop. There is a 24-hour cancellation policy in effect for all lessons and events where a fee will be charged. Guest fees are $5 per day on weekdays and $10 per day on weekends and holidays. Members are required to check in at the Tennis Shop before play and register all guests. ONLINE TENNIS COURT RESERVATIONS Members may reserve a tennis court, the ball machine or the backboard through the Valley Country Club website. Please register all Members and guests on the court you reserve. Please check in for your court in the Tennis Shop before you begin play. Guest fees apply whether the Tennis Shop is open or closed. Learn to play tennis in just a few lessons. If you have never played or haven t played in a long time, these classes are for you! Beginners may also join the weekly 2.5 team drills. 3 ball machine The Playmate Ball Machine is available to rent year round, weather permitting. Fee is $6 per hour or you may join the Ball Machine Club for $50 per family from April 15th April 14th You must reserve a court to use the ball machine. Sign-up forms are available through the Tennis Shop. The ball machine is a great way to improve your game and get a great workout! US OPEN TRIP Thursday, September 1st - Monday, September 5th, 2016 Join Diane, other Members and their guests. US Open tickets range from $80-$110 per day. Deadline to sign up is April 3rd. Tickets purchased are non-refundable. TENNIS LIBRARY The Tennis Library is located in the Tennis Shop and contains USPTA DVDs, videos, audio tapes and books. Strokes, strategy, fitness and mental toughness are some of the topics covered. Members may check these out for a small fee. SPORTSWALL BACKBOARD Don t have a partner? Enjoy the Sportswall Backboard located on court three. It s a great 1/2 hour workout and the backboard will always win! Great for warming up before a match. Reserve the backboard online or contact the Tennis Shop. tennis, cardio, fun and supporting a good cause Valley hosts two charity events (known as Triples) over the course of the season for Members and guests to participate in. These are designed to provided a good workout with friends in a fun environment, while money raised helps support good causes. Fundraisers are $20 per player. A drawing for prizes will be added to each event for an additional $10. Triples is a fast-paced game to cardio music that is played to 10, 15 or 21 points per round. Sign up in teams of four (different NTRP levels, , women, men or juniors ages 14+) or as an individual and you will be placed on a team. Triples tournaments are limited to the first 40 players. Refreshments are included. 5 Know the Rules before you Play! To play with Valley Country Club s women s or men s adult tennis leagues: + You must be 18 years of age or older and you must be a member of the USTA. + If your USTA membership expires in 2016, you must renew your membership before league deadlines. Call to renew your membership. You can also renew your USTA membership at usta.com. Your month of expiration will remain the same. Do not mail in your renewal to USTA if it expires after March 1, 2016, or you will be ineligible for league play. + If you are new to league play, you may purchase a USTA membership at usta.com. LEAGUE CHANGES Matches scheduled on Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day may be made up if a team cannot play. The three week rule applies if the league has not ended by then. We need team captains for each league. Please contact Diane Selke for league fees, lessons, cancelation fees and roster maintenance. All matches must be played on their scheduled date unless any of the mandatory reschedule requirements are met. Any individual match (line) not played on the scheduled date shall count as a loss by default. 6 Adult Leagues Dates and times subject to change // Deadline to Sign Up: Thursday, February 18th USTA Mixed Doubles 18 & Over League Sunday, April 10th - Sunday, May 22nd $46 per player 6.0 and 8.0 play at 12:00 p.m. 7.0 plays at 3:00 p.m. District playoffs are June 17th - 19th Sectional playoffs are July 15th - 17th This league is for players rated 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0. Teams will be formed at the combined 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0 levels with three doubles teams playing each week. USTA Women s 18 & Over Evening League $48 per player League matches begin the week of April 25th and run through June 9th with flight playoffs on Saturday, July 9th. Team practices begin the week of April 11th. There will be nine weeks of team practices. Travel is involved. District playoffs are July 29th - 31st and Sectional playoffs are August 19th - 21st. Men s Trio Leagues One singles and two doubles teams play each week, Saturdays at 3:00 p.m. 3.0, 3.5 and 4.5 teams will be formed. League runs March 26th through April 23rd. Travel is involved. $38 per player USTA Men s 18 and Over Evening League Two singles and three doubles league teams play each week. 3.0 plays Wednesdays 6:00 p.m. 3.5 & 4.5 plays Tuesdays 6:00 p.m. League runs April 26th through June 8th.
