I got off to a good start last week going 66-8; let s see if I can keep it going. Arizona at Oklahoma St. Zanes Zero - Zona The Cowboys are rounding up Wildcats in Stillwater on Saturday.

1 September 7, 2011 Week 2 It was nice to see the start of college football last week. Some places experienced the wrath of Mother Nature; but that did not seem to dampen the enthusiasm of fans across the country. I got off to a good start last week going 66-8; let s see if I can keep it going. Arizona at Oklahoma St. Zanes Zero - Zona The Cowboys are rounding up Wildcats in Stillwater on Saturday. These Cats are mean and don t travel well; but they have a big cat at quarterback who will throw the ball all over the yard. The Cowboys are not afraid of a shootout because..that s what they do. This game is likely to have over 1,000 combined yards in total offense. First team to 50 will win this game. Iowa at Iowa St. The Hawkeyes are heading to Ames with intentions of beating the crap out of their in state rival. The Cyclones are tired of being perceived as the second class school and would love to obtain bragging rights for the next 12 months. The Hawkeyes are in a transition year and are on the road in this one; so anything can happen like gumballs falling from the sky, hassle free air travel and gas under a buck a gallon; you know those kinds of unlikely things. Zanes Zero Iowa State Stanford at Duke The SAT bowl is Saturday in Durham as the Cardinal visits the Blue Devils. I don t know what Andrew Luck made on his SAT; but I suspect he will have a perfect score on carving up the Blue Devil defense. The Blue Devils will do well to hold this machine to under 50. When is midnight madness? Zanes Zero Duke

Led by their new quarterback Russell Wilson, the Badgers appear to be able to hang with anyone in the country. What s a matter Beav? Zane Zero Oregon State Mississippi St.

The defending champs snatched victory out of the jaws of defeat against Utah State. The bunch they play this weekend has a full set of teeth so I don t recommend a repeat of last weeks performance.

Auburn can definitely play better than they did last week; but I think they will come up a little short. The Situation and Snooki head south to check out Aunt Bee and Ernest T Bass. Having these knuckleheads in your house may not be the best recipe for the Tar Heels to get past the drama that has rocked the program for the last 12 months. Luckily Andy gave Barney his bullet back; so Mayberry should be safe for the weekend even though it will wreak of bad cologne and cheap liquor for awhile. The Ducks fly home after a rather unpleasant visit to the Lone Star state to take on the Wolfpack of Nevada. Nevada had a tremendous year last year and will have a new trigger man running their pistol offense. Oregon is just glad to see somebody that s not from the SEC West. The Ducks have to be praised for an ambitious non conference schedule and do not want to start the season 0 and 2. This should be the week that they bounce back. Zanes Zero - Nevada

South Carolina at Georgia The Banty Roosters from the Palmetto State cross the 4 lane road into the Peach state to square off against the Bulldogs.

The last group of visitors that treated the home folks this poorly were led by General Sherman who was armed with an abundance of matches and kerosene.

The Dawgs were bucked by the Broncos of Boise St in their opener Saturday night in Atlanta. The Gamecocks spotted the Pirates 17 points before they got their act together and took control of the game. The natives are getting restless in Athens and a home win against South Carolina would go a long way towards calming the waters. Unfortunately I see rough seas ahead. Zanes Zero Georgia Hawaii at Washington Danno and McGarrett ditch their silver Camaro and their surf boards for a trip to the Northwest to visit the Huskies of Washington. Washington is headed in the right direction but had a close call last week; which seemed to be the theme for the PAC 12. The Hula is strictly forbidden in the Northwest; but there is no law against having a Starbucks and chillaxing. Book em Danno. Zanes Zero Hawaii UAB at Florida The Blazers head to the swamp to take on the Gators this Saturday. The boys from Gainesville are looking for a few appetizers before they get to the main course and UAB looks like a big tray of meatballs. The second string will see a lot of action Saturday. The cats have been well trained by their Coach JoePa and he has seen the best the Tide has had to offer through the years from Bear, Namath, Starr and Stabler. The 2011 edition from Tuscaloosa has their eyes winning the SEC which recently has translated into winning the National Championship. The pride of College Station could care less about such matters and would love to end those dreams. Zanes Zero Penn State Virginia Tech at East Carolina The Hokies go coastal as they play the Pirates of East Carolina. The Pirates caught a break when the visor wearing genius in Columbia started Connor Shaw over Stephen Garcia to start the game last week. After the Pirates built a 17 point lead, the Pirates decided to play Santa Claus and give the Gamecocks the ball back 3 times to start the 2 nd half. The Hokies crushed the Appalachian State Mountaineers in their opener but are definitely stepping up in class the week. Zanes Zero East Carolina Missouri at Arizona St. The Tigers prowl to the desert to take on the Sun Devils of Arizona State. The Tigers offense will need to find a deferent gear if they expect to waltz into Tempe and come out with a win. The Sun Devils are looking to make noise in the PAC 12 and this will be a good tune up before conference play. I think the young QB of Missouri will have a tough time in the desert. Notre Dame at Michigan Utah at USC The Leprechauns try their luck at the Big House against the Wolverines this Saturday. Both teams fought Mother Nature in addition to their opponent last weekend.

The Maze and Blue faired well while the Irish came up short. There is a lot of optimism surrounding both programs; however an 0-2 start for the Golden Domers will curb the enthusiasm big time. Zanes Zero Notre Dame The Utes have the pleasure of playing USC in their first ever PAC 12 conference game. The Gophers of Minnesota gave the Trojans all they could handle last week. Utah has developed a winning culture; so I expect they will have a competitive year. I will have to give the nod to the home team in this case. Zanes Zero Utah Cincinnati at Tennessee The Bearcats travel south to Knoxville to take on the Volunteers of Tennessee. Coach Dooley, son of Vince, had his career quota of crazy off the wall games last year. He has recruited well and has brought about a refreshing change from the 365 days of Kiffin. The Bearcats have talent and are looking to return to the kind of success Coach Kelley had in Cincinnati. This will be a close game and the Bearcats are coming off of a game in which they score 72 points. That will not happen this weekend. Zanes Zero, in OT Cincinnati Fresno St. at Nebraska The Cornhuskers host the Fresno State Bulldogs in Lincoln this weekend. Coach Pelini has another team that is physical on both sides of the ball; so it s not exactly going to be like 2 hand touch. Zanes Zero Fresno State

6 Northwestern State at LSU Les Miles is in his element when his back is against the wall and he has to bring his team together. Last Saturday night s game against Oregon was exhibit Q of his ability to pull his team together in tough times. No problems this Saturday for the Tigers. Deep in the heart of Texas; most of the talk lately has been about how Texas and their TV network has killed the Big 12. Carolina St. at Wake Forest The Wolfpack head down to Winston Salem to take on the Demon Deacons. Coach O Brien should have the Pack ready and will do his best not to keep up with the Wisconsin games this season. Coach Grobe is the best thing to happen to Demon Deacon football; he lost a close one on the road to Syracuse in overtime. Both coaches preach sound mistake free football. Zanes Zero Wake Forest
