Two parks have responded. If there is to be a playoff game, we must be informed of your security arrangements no later than February 10, The number of players and coaches for the Development, Bantam, Peanuts Conference A, B, & C and the Minors Conference A & B must be turned into the MPRD by February 19, All semi final winners will be given a state tournament package that must returned to the MPRD Office by Wednesday, February 24, :00 PM. This includes Birth Certificates. No roster changes will be accepted after this date. 6 If the police is used as security, they must be paid with collected funds from the door. FOR YOUR INFORMATION: Are you aware that the city of mobile pays $80.00 per game for officials, scorekeepers, and clock operators. This amount will total approximately $80, by the end of the Basketball season. The teams pay nothing to the City toward this huge amount. Most parents think that the registration fee, paid at the park, pays for game officials/referees and this is not true. The MPRD requires high school level referees to officiate games but adults continue to complain and interfere. City officials are having discussions to remove this benefit from our youth because of this interference and the problems that it brings. Guess who will ultimately pay for the officials in the future? Do not allow negative actions of a few to destroy this program. This benefit for citywide sports did not come about easily and is the only one of its kind in the southeast and beyond. Once removed, it will not return.

The roster limit is 15 players and 3 NYSCA certified coaches. All rosters must be turned in Monday February 29, PM at the MPRD office, 48 N. Sage Avenue. Championship teams from Baldwin County are in Mobile's district and could challenge teams for the right to advance to the state tournament in Gadsden. These games will be played February 27, The ARPA state basketball tournament will be held Friday thru Sunday March 11-13, 2016 in Gadsden, Alabama.
