Classes for the new term begin Monday, January 8. Late registration will be conducted Monday and Tuesday, January 8 and 9, in the Lower Commons from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and the rest of the week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, in the Admissions and Records Lobby. A late fee of $5 will be charged to all registering January 8 and later. 3 BIBLIOGRAPHER Cofitioued from pagel specialty in Afro-Amer^icana at the University of Illinois) which, has the largest library of any state university in the country, joined the CSCSB Library staff this week. Prior to her eight years at the University of Illinois Ms. Patterson served with the U.S. Air Force, progressing in rank from airman to captain in active service and currently holds a irajor^s rank in the reserves. During her Air Force duty she saw service in the U.S. and was stationed four years overseas, nainly in France. A native of Louisiana, Ms. Patterson attended Southern University in Baton ^uge, and the University of Illinois where she received a BA in French and an MS in Library Science. She also holds a certificate in Black Studies Librarianship from Fisk University in Nashville. The versatile librarian also holds cates frcm the Air Force. weather observer and meteorology certifi- In her position as College Bibliographer, Ms. Patterson has responsibility for coordinating the development of the Library's collection and will approve all book o^ers and all books as they are^ received by the Library. She will work closely with the faculty and adeninistration-to support the programs offered by the College. She plans to become acquainted with the faculty and the 290,000 books in the Library Ms. Patterson, a soft spoken, thoughtful woiran, was drawn to the library profession by a combination of love of books and reading and by a fascination by the huge library at Idie University of Illinois, which nade her want to learn more about it. Althou^ her love of reading takes a lot of her time, she is also interested in music, piano and drama. is it * COPIES OF NEW SPEAKERS The edition of the CSCSB BROCHURE DISTRIBUTED Speakers Bureau Brochure arrived on campus last month. Copies have been distributed to high schools and community colleges in the Riverside-San Bernardino area and to community organizations. This year the Bureau boasts an unprecedented 87 speakers and 280 speeches, covering a wide range of topics, representing 30 different interest areas. 1 Copies were distributed to school and department offices last month. 4 MUilC ORGAN CONCEI^ - A UCLA professor and author will present a noon concert on. Wednesday, January 10. Dr. Robert L. Tusler, Professor of Music at UCLA and author of the acclaimed "The Style of Johann Sebastian Bach's Chorale Preludes," will be the performing artist, ^ The program, free of charge and open to all, will begin at noon in the Recital Hall of the Creative Arts Building, Dr. Tusler will be featured at the College's new Schllcker pipe organ play ing a variety of 17th and 18th century selections. He 1s considered an authority on organ music of that era and Is also known as a designer of organs, with many original designs 1n use throughout Southern California. AND ANOTHER ORGAf^l CONCERT,,, On Wednesday evening, January 17, Her-.. J... Iverson, organist and member of the CSCSB studio music faculty, will be featured In a recital, Mr, Iverson will perform on the Schllcker pipe organ playing music by Sweellnck and Bach, $1,50 per person, children and students with I.D, admitted free, 8-15 p.m. LD I M^CICr A one-man show of miniature architectural ' I ^ ) sculptures will be displayed in the Art Gallery starting Thursday, January 11, The artist is Roger Lintault, CSCSB Professor of Art, who has displayed his work extensively throughout the country, M opening reception will be held Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. in the Galery of ^e Fine Arts Building, Students, faculty and staff as well as the public are invited to attend the reception and view the exhibit at no charge. According to the artist, at first the works may be seen as miniature scale designs. Most are approximately 18 inches square and are mixed-media sculptures that have been-exquisitely crafted with detailed precision. Then the viewer may imagine himself on a level where he becomes part of the miniature environment and travels along its paths. At this perspective, the sculptures become monumental, awesome and surreal. and COMING TO GALLERY 2 - An exhibit of paintings by Brian Babinski, senior art major, opening January 17, * * * WOMEN^S LECTURE SERIES How women cope with anger and aggression will be considered ON ANGER AND AGGRESSION In a five-part lecture series offered on campus during January and February, Four CSCSB women psychologists will lead the sessions and offer information and insight on anger and aggression experienced by today's woman. Gloria Cowan, Prof., Psych,, will lead the first lecture January 8 on "Anger and Aggression in Women; Marsha,Liss, Asst. Prof,, will talk on "Anger and Aggression In Children," January 15. Lynda Warren, Assoc. Prof,'Will centrate on "What Makes Women Angry?" at the January 22 meeting and on January 29 Martha Kazlo, Psychologist, will speak on "Coping with Anger," The final February 5 lecture will be led by all four. In addition to noting changes with respect to landscape and wildlife, he consulted with various officials concerning his results and presented a lecture to the Belize Audubon Society. Carolyn Martin (P.E. & Recreation) on December 6 directed an elementary physical education workshop at Wilson Elementary School for the San Bernardino Unified School District.
