CALL TO ORDER Meeting called to order at 12:15 pm II. 3 For the purpose of accommodating individuals from public forum we moved out of order then resumed to order. IV. OFFICER S REPORT (3 Minutes per Speaker) a. Chairperson s Report i. Posting boards are being borrowed by Admissions in order to post the available classes for the Summer session. b. Chief Delegate s Report i. Due to budget cuts there will be fewer classes, please make time to add your classes before they open up district wide. ii. Any clubs interested in receiving funds for their banquets please make sure to submit your paperwork by March 4, c. Club Delegate s Report i. Accounting Club Will host club dinner on June 5 th. Food sale on April 25. ii. Architecture Club- Entered Competition and has invited the student to observe their hard work at Architecture Village. iii. ESL Will be having a food sale on Thursday. iv. ESSP Will be having a food sale on Thursday. v. El Acceso will be hosting a evangelical event and all students are welcomed to join. vi. MEChA Will be hosting a spoken word event on April 20 th. vii. PEP Squad We finally have our facebook and twitter up and running. viii. QSA - Will be hosting first Annual ELAC Pride Festival on May 12, If anyone would like to work together with us in this event please let us know. Current clubs affiliated with this event are NAMI and Sociology Club. Food will be sold during event. Special Event, activities, games will be at the May Gay Pride. ix. Sociology Will be having a Taco fundraiser between E3 and E5. x. Vision Club April 20 th we will be hosting a Talent show. There will be 1 st, 2 nd, and 3ed Prize. Show will be starting at 6:00pm. Everyone is invited to come, join us and bring a friend. V. PUBLIC FORUM: - Chief Justice, Joey Luna, has requested for student to submit nominations for the position of MC if students are interested in nominating their professors. - Miguel Olivares, with CAFÉ Coalition, came in to give the students an update based on health issues that surround the students. VI. DISCUSSION ITEMS a. Occupy LA May Day (05/01/12) i. Jamie from the Occupy LA movement informed the student about the importance of May Day. ii. 4 iii. Location of meetings is at Corazon Del Pueblo, a community supported location in East LA. b. ASU Candidates i. Chief Justice, Joey Luna, introduced the candidates running for next year s ASU officers. ii. Running for Chief Justice: Jackie and Alex iii. Running for Vice President: Jessica Robles iv. Running for ASU President: Jennifer Estrada c. Husky Bowl i. Registration for the Second Annual Husky Bowl will be held in the morning of. ii. Location will be between E3 and E5. iii. There will be a couple of repeated games as well as new games like a dunk tank. iv. Clubs will be allowed to fundraise during the event. v. There will be Cash prizes for the top three clubs. vi. Event will start at 12:00pm and end at 2:00pm d. Banquet Funding (05/04/2012) i. Last chance to turn in paperwork to request funds from ASU will be in May. ii. Clubs that will be requesting money for Banquets, this is the time to submit any proposals that may be pending. e. Graduation (MC) i. Chief Justice, Joey Luna, has requested for student to submit nominations for the position of MC if students are interested in nominating their professors. ii. If anyone has questions contact Chief Justice, Joey Luna, during his office hours or by phone. iii. Nomination slips were passed out f. Scream-a-thon - Sociology i. Item was requested to be tabled to next ICC meeting. g. Deaf Awareness Walk Chatting Hands (June 16, 2012) i. Club not present: Motion dies VII. VIII. I.
