1 The Loveland Board of Education met in a regular session on Tuesday, May 19, called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Call to Order ROLL CALL: RESOLUTION NO ADOPTION OF BOARD AGENDA Rebecca Trate Stuart Wasmund Present (arrived at 5:30 p.m.) Present Present moved, seconded by to adopt the agenda for the May 19, 2015 Board of Education meeting as presented. Voting order and sequence will be rotated by the Treasurer. Welcoming of Guests (arrived at 5:30 p.m.) Pledge of Allegiance Hearing of the Public Committee Reports Finance Committee Meeting - reported that the revenue account summary and financial report by fund was reviewed year to date. The Symmes Township Tif is currently pending in Columbus for review. We received $206,000 from the Willows Bend Tif (Miami Township. Effective January 1, 2016 we will roll back taxes to 1.59 mils as promised in the levy. Facilities Committee Meeting reported that they talked about future planning for the district. We will be purchasing computers for the High School. We need to have enough computers on hand for testing this will be in place by this fall. Topics HB 74 Graduation Facilities and Grounds Improvement Plan UC Demographic Study RESOLUTION NO AUTHORIZE THE BUSINESS MANAGER TO ENGAGE VSWC ARCHITECTS moved, seconded by to authorize the Business Manager to engage VSWC Architects to prepare the plans, design, specifications, cost estimates, and other necessary documents related to a new tennis court project at Loveland High School and a new playground project at Loveland Primary School. RESOLUTION NO APPOINT REPRESENTATIVE TO LOVELAND RECREATION BOARD

3 WHEREAS, the Board wishes to extend said Administrators Contracts for an additional two (2) year term through July 31, RESOLUTION NO APPROVE ADDENDUM TO EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE AND CERTAIN ADMINISTRATIVE EMPLOYEES moved, seconded by to approve Addendum to Employment Agreements between the Loveland City School District Board of Education and certain Administrative Employees. Principal, effective August 1, 2014 WHEREAS, the Board wishes to extend said Administrators Contracts for an additional one (1) year term through July 31, Treasurer s Report and Recommendations RESOLUTION NO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING TREASURER RESOLUTIONS moved, seconded by to approve the following Treasurer resolutions: Approve the submitted financial reports, payment of invoices, board member expenses, transfers, investment of funds and appropriation adjustments. Approve reading and corrections of typographical and substantive changes to previous minutes for April 21, April 23 and May 5 not yet adopted and as printed in draft. Accept a donation from the Loveland Moose Lodge of $ to Loveland Schools to be used for items needed by students. Approve disposal of equipment and books from LECC, LPS, LES, LIS and LMS Media Centers by gift, sale or destruction (Attachment 1). Accept the amounts and rates as determined by the budget commission and authorize tax levies and certify them to the county auditor for fiscal year beginning July 1, Approve payment in lieu of transportation: WHEREAS the student(s) identified below have been determined to be residents of this school district, and eligible for transportation services; and WHEREAS after a careful evaluation of all available options, it has been determined that it is impractical to provide transportation for these student(s) to their selected school(s); and WHEREAS the following factors as identified in Revised Code have been considered: 1. The time and distance required to provide the transportation 2. The number of pupils to be transported

4 3. The cost of providing transportation in terms of equipment, maintenance, personnel and administration 4. Whether similar or equivalent service is provided to other pupils eligible for transportation 5. Whether and to what extent the additional service unavoidably disrupts current transportation schedules 6. Whether other reimbursable types of transportation are available; and WHEREAS the option of offering payment in lieu of transportation is provided in Revised Code: Therefore, Be It RESOLVED that the Loveland Board of Education hereby approves the declaration of impractical to transport for the identified students, and offering them payment in lieu of transportation. WHEREAS, the Superintendent has recommended to the Loveland City School District Board of Education (the Board of Education ) that it terminate the employment contract of Misty Mack for good and just cause pursuant to Article 17 of the Negotiated Agreement and Ohio law; and WHEREAS, Ms. Mack is employed by the Board of Education as a student activity monitor; and WHEREAS, The Negotiated Agreement, states: Probation Period Newly hired members of the bargaining unit shall be subject to a one (1) year probation period from the date of hire during which they may be released, with cause, without recourse. WHEREAS, the Board of Education has received evidence from the Superintendent and Business Manager which specifically supports and documents the reasons for that termination, which are described in the pre-discipline due process letter that was provided to Ms. Mack on May 14, 2015., a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Education of the Loveland City School District on the recommendation of the Superintendent, that: SECTION I The Board of Education hereby terminates the employment contract of Misty Mack for the reasons specified in Exhibit A. Ms. Mack shall be furnished with written notice, signed by the Treasurer, that her employment is hereby terminated immediately. SECTION II It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Board of Education concerning or related to the adoption of this Resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Board, and all deliberations of this Board and any of its committees, if any, that resulted in such formal actions were adopted in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all applicable requirements of the Ohio Revised Code.
