1 AGENDA & EVENT INFORMATION NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY PREPAREDNESS DAY WEDNESDAY, MAY 9, 2018 Curry Student Center & Behrakis Health Science Center
2 Northeastern University Preparedness Day 2018 Preparedness Day at Northeastern University is a series of events that will take place in effort to share information, provide training, and facilitate discussion-based exercises for the purpose of preparedness. The goal of Preparedness Day is to provide the participants with the information and the additional capacity to build their condition of preparedness with confidence. Event Website: Check-In & Registration: For Current Information on Preparedness Day Visit Opens starting at 9:00 AM in both the Curry Student Center Indoor Quad and the First Floor of the Behrakis Health Science Center. These locations will remain open throughout the event. Morning CPR class will be able to Check-In within the class. You will need to check in on-site to collect your identification badge, which will allow you access to the sessions and the event activities. Your badge will contain a 4-digit identifier to use throughout the day. Exhibit Halls and Information Tables: Full-Scale Exercise: Will be located in the Curry Student Center indoor quad and will be available from 10:00 AM 3:00 PM. Please be aware that the NUPD Full-Scale Exercise will be taking place in and around Ell Hall from 7:00 AM 12:00 PM. For safety purposes, please remain behind barriers during this time. Parking and Transportation: Food and Refreshments: Please note that parking is very limited on campus and public transportation is recommended whenever possible. Northeastern University is easily accessible by Orange Line (Ruggles/Mass Ave), Green Line (Northeastern), and Commuter Rail (Ruggles) MBTA. Those that do need to park on campus should use the pay visitor parking on campus located at Renaissance Park Garage (835 Columbus Avenue, Boston, MA 02120). Light food and refreshments will be available throughout the day for registered participants in the Curry Student Center. Offered at 11:15 AM, 1:45 PM, & 3:30 PM Preparing NU for Shifting Weather Patterns Facilities Curry Student Center Minutes Capacity 60 Listen in and interact with a panel of experts and practitioners in meteorology as they discuss topics related to major changes in weather and how we as a campus can prepare for weather related events. Offered at 2:30 PM Recognizing and Responding to Concerning Behavior E4Health (EAP) Curry Student Center Hour Capacity 50 All associates may occasionally exhibit declines in productivity or concerns regarding work performance or behavior. However, associates with unresolved personal challenges, substance abuse issues, interpersonal difficulties, or other issues that impact their functioning, may show a pattern of unsatisfactory work performance over a period of time. Often, supervisors and managers will avoid dealing directly with these situations or will do things to help the associate. Though well intentioned, certain actions might actually perpetuate problem behaviors. This session will address recognizing concerning behaviors, best practices for discussing these concerns with the associate, as well as actions to take, including collaboration with available workplace and E4 Health resources.
