Early Registration Deadline Meeting registration forms must be received by the WUF Executive Office by December 13, 2011 to receive the discounted early registration rate. All forms received after December, 13, 2011, including onsite registrations, will be assessed the regular registration fee. Educational Needs & Objectives Needs Assessment This meeting will identify for urologists new management strategies for prostate and bladder cancer, stone disease, incontinence, the impact of healthcare legislation on clinical practice, and the impact of the EMR on medical legal documentation in the office. Urologists attending this meeting will learn new ways to improve overall patient care. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in American men, behind only lung cancer. About 1 man in 6 will acquire the disease and 1 in 35 will die of prostate cancer. As many as threefourths of American men with prostate cancer may be candidates for less invasive treatments, such as focal therapy. The current management of prostate cancer will be discussed with a focus on prevention, management of recurrence after radical prostatectomy, and new options for metastatic patients. Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is a problem plaguing many female patients. Despite recent advances in understanding this condition and new surgical options, the limited therapeutic choices between conservative treatment and surgical intervention for SUI can cause frustration for both patient and clinician. A number of options exist for women with SUI and urologists will learn how to evaluate each patient s treatment and tolerance for these new options. Bladder cancer is the fifth most common cancer in the United States. Almost 60,000 cases are diagnosed each year, and more than 12,000 will die from the disease. Urologists will learn about the most up-todate evidence-based treatment to ensure the best outcomes for their patients. Stone management has changed dramatically over the years with new equipment and better understanding of the metabolic abnormalities associated with stone formation. Attendees will learn the state of the art management of stone formers. Healthcare legislation has changed how physicians will practice medicine and deliver care. Urologists need to understand these changes and how they will impact their practices. Objectives 1. Identify the best markers for screening for prostate cancer 2. Review the management of Low-Risk prostate cancer and the appropriate candidates for active surveillance 3. Describe the current state of the art of intermittent androgen deprivation 4. Distinguish the quality of prostate cancer research 5. Describe the latest techniques in robotic surgery 6. Review the most appropriate treatment of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer 7. Review the management options of the small renal mass 8. Identify appropriate candidates for partial nephrectomy and renal preservation 9.
