16 COMMUNITY PARTNERS PROGRAM The TVS Community Partners Program (CPP) invites students entering grades 7-12 to participate in this two-week summer session focused on leadership in the community, learning about local non-profit organizations, and discovering the important roles that philanthropy and service play in strengthening and improving the community in which we live. The program will run June 5-16, and students should plan to attend both weeks of this two-week program. Upper School students receive community service hours based on attendance and participation. As part of the CPP program, students serve as a philanthropic board of directors and allocate real monetary donations among participating non-profit organizations. This allocation experience is possible through a grant given by the Once Upon a Time Foundation. This course also includes hands-on service experiences at local non-profit organizations, where students gain firsthand knowledge of how non-profit organizations operate and see how these organizations affect the lives of individuals in our community. There is no cost for this program, and participants have an amazing opportunity to learn what it takes to be a philanthropic leader and make a difference within the community, but space is limited. Visit the CPP Web page for the program flyer and application! 15
