4 COMPETITION DATES The PAGE Georgia Academic Decathlon is open to all public and private high schools in Georgia. Participating schools must be members of the Georgia High School Association. School districts may have as many of their high schools participating as they wish. If two or more high schools in a school district participate, the district must have a local competition to determine which high school will represent the district at the state competition. STATE COMPETITION The state competition is usually scheduled for the last full weekend in February (Friday- Saturday), at Berkmar High School in Gwinnett County. School teams traveling great distances have the opportunity to stay in hotels in the area near Berkmar High School, which is near Gwinnett Place Mall on Interstate 85 north of the perimeter. The Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta is our current host hotel. Please visit the PAGE GAD website at and click on the Dates and Registration link to view the current calendar. NATIONAL COMPETITION The championship team with the highest team score from Division I or II of the PAGE Georgia Academic Decathlon state competition will represent the State of Georgia at the United States Academic Decathlon national competition which is usually scheduled during the end of April. Georgia will also identify three non-winning teams to represent the state in the USAD National Online Small, Medium and Large school competitions.
