What s Happening this June in Colorado s Most Destination PRESENTED BY ARVADA VISITORS CENTER Warm weather is here to stay and there s no better place to savor the bright sun and beautiful landscapes of summer than Arvada. Whether it s hiking or music, culture or crafts, there s something to meet everyone s needs in the month of June. Including a beach party. Come and start exploring everything that Arvada has to offer as the summer sun shines! 14 th Annual Kids Fishing Contest Fishy business: Arvada s Kids Fishing Contest, June 7, 2014
2 Aspiring anglers of all ages will get the chance to showcase their skills at the Arvada Reservoir during the 14 th Annual Kids Fishing Contest. Admission is free for kids 3-14, so bring the family bright and early for a morning of fishing and fun. There are prizes for the 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd place finishers in each age group, so grab your fishing tackle and get ready to cast! When: June 7, 2014, starting at 6:00 a.m. Where: Arvada Blunn Reservoir, West 64th Parkway, Arvada, Colo. Arvada Trails Day Wildlife at the Majestic View Nature Center
3 Celebrate the great outdoors by taking in Arvada s natural beauty at the 13 th Annual Arvada Trails Day. The Majestic View Nature Center and the Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge will provide everything from live animal presentations to biking and hiking groups. Free ice cream and hot dogs will be provided at both locations so bring your energy and an appetite! 6 Colorado s premier beach party: Sand in the City Festival, June 28 29, 2014 The beach comes to you with the help of the 2 nd annual Sand in the City Festival. Colorado s premier beach party is expected to attract over 10,000 visitors this year, and you won t want to be left out of the fun. With beachside staples such as sand sculptures, local food and buried treasure, there s something for everyone to do as they soak up the sun and savor the sand between their toes.
