1 August Newsletter 2015 Connellsville Moose Lodge 16 and Chapter W. Apple Street Connellsville, PA Governor s Note Since our return from Nashville we have been busy preparing for the annual family picnic held this year at Linden Hall. I m happy to report that it was a huge success. We had over 250 people in attendance. What a beautiful warm day and as always there was plenty of food and refreshments. Merrie the clown kept the kids busy with face painting and balloons. The afternoon was spent playing Bingo and break opens. We tried something new this year, we purchased two 10 X 20 canopies, that we used for shade and raffled off. Everyone seemed to like the idea, and two lucky winners went home with a slightly used easy up canopy. I believe everyone who attended had a great time. 4 Editor s Note As I mentioned last month, many of us attended the Moose International Convention held in Nashville TN on July 3 rd to the 7 th. Happy to report there were no changes in any of the by-laws. The only small change was in the Heart of the Community report. The Moose Alert section has been eliminated and replaced with Veterans Affairs. Other than that it was the usual business meeting that the Moose is required to do to maintain our private nonprofit status. We got to spend some free time in downtown Nashville and check out a few of the honkytonks. Needless to say everyone enjoyed that. 5 John Truxel Memorial Golf Outing will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Springdale Golf course. Start time will be 8:00 AM for Shot Gun Start. The price is $65.00 per member and $75.00 for non-members, price includes: Golf, Cart, Gift and 6 pack at the course. Lunch at the turn and a steak dinner at the Moose afterward.
