I would like to encourage all of our 4-Her s to participate in the Wellness Challenge, in addition to staying active & eating healthy during these cold months. 6 Allen County 4-H Talk Meet and Demonstrations When: March 5:30pm Where: Allen County Extension Office What: Allen County 4-H will be hosting a 4-H Talk Meet and Demonstrations contest for individuals wanting to compete with a speech or demonstration. 4-Her s will compete against youth of same age in speeches, and of same topic category and similar age in demonstrations. More information can be received by contacting the Allen County Extension Office at or ing Agent Meador at anna.meador1@uky.edu. Why: Increase your Self-Confidence! Learn to Public Speak! Enhance your knowledge and skills! A cool trophy! As well as the opportunity to advance to Area and/or State for class champions. Need Help Preparing???: Attend the Get Talking! Workshop on February 22nd from 3:30-5. Agent Meador will provide planning tips, examples, and demonstrations for preparing for Speeches, Demonstrations & Mock Interviews, in addition to an after-school snack. RSVP your child s attendance by 02/21. More Information: Junior speeches should be ages 5-8 (Cloverbuds) & ages Demonstration areas will include: Agriculture, Animal Science, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Clothing & Textiles, Family & Consumer Sciences, Foods, Health, Team Demonstrations, Natural Resources, Shooting Sports, Science, Engineering & Technology, and Digital Media Presentation. Youth competing in Demonstrations will compete in either Junior or Senior levels, within the topic category.
