2 Weekly Calendar Little Ones (0-5 Years) TH M TU TU W LET S MAKE MUSIC (2-5 years) Join us for a half hour of games and activities as we make music together! Mondays, Jan-Feb.; 10:15 a.m. McKinney Fire Station 7: Thursdays, March-May; 10:15 a.m. TODDLER TIME (16 months-3 years) Encourage early literacy, social development and imagination through interactive and engaging read-alouds, songs, rhymes and post-story time playtime with fun and ageappropriate toys! Tuesdays; 10:15 a.m. HALL: Tuesdays; 10:15 a.m. PRE-K STORY TIME: I CAN BE (3-5 years) What can your child be? A teacher, an astronaut, a doctor, a friend? Kind, silly, imaginative? Through read-alouds, discussions, games and take-home crafts your preschooler will engage with the world around them - and the potential inside of them! HALL: Tuesdays; 11:15 a.m. WOBBLERS & WALKERS (10-16 months) If your little one is already walking or starting to walk, this is the program for you! Join us for short rhymes and songs for the more mobile babies to enjoy. HALL: Wednesdays; 10:15 a.m. W TH TH F SA BILINGUAL STORY TIME (3-5 years) Children will listen to books and sing songs in two languages. HALL: Wednesdays; 11:15 a.m. LITTLE ONES LAPSIT (0-10 months) Caregivers engage their babies with books, rhymes and poems, bounces, tickles, fingerplays and movement games. HALL: Thursdays; 10:15 a.m. PRE-K STORY TIME (3-5 years) Children will experience print motivation and awareness, letter knowledge, and vocabulary through colorful picture books and visual aids. We will develop narrative skills through rhymes and songs, and explore our creative side in a post-storytime craft. Younger and older siblings are also welcome to attend. Thursdays; 11:15 a.m. FRIDAY PLAYDATE (0-3 years) Toys are set out for our young patrons to come play at the library and make new friends! Fridays; 10:15 a.m. HALL: Fridays; 10:15 a.m. STORY TIME AT THE LIBRARY (3-5 years) Children are encouraged to engage with books through songs, rhymes, activities and crafts. Saturdays; 11:15 a.m.

Learn how to draw animals, characters and anything in-between! All skill levels welcome! Thursdays; 4:30 p.m. MOTHER AND DAUGHTER BOOK CLUB Mothers and daughters read and share a new book every month. Check the website for reading selections. Father and sons welcome too! Second Monday of the month; 6:30 p.m. Teens (6th-12th grade) W TH All Ages SA COMIC BOOK FIGHT CLUB Join us as we discuss comic books and graphic novels! We ll watch movies, play games and participate in comic book related crafts. Wednesdays; 4:30 p.m. ANIME CLUB Watch episodes of anime, talk about your favorite manga, make animanga-inspired crafts and hang out with other fans! HALL: Thursdays; 5 p.m. SATURDAY CHESS MEETUP Want to learn how to play or find new players to challenge? All skill levels welcome! HALL: Saturdays; 10:30 a.m. Adults first & third M W first F every other SA SU second ADULT YARN CRAFTERS Relax, express your creativity and meet others with similar interests. Charitable and personal projects are welcome, some materials are supplied. Informal setting for adults of all abilities. First and Third Mondays; 7 p.m. ADULT BOOK CLUB Join us for conversation and snacks as we discuss our current book. See website for book selections. HALL: First Wednesday of month; 12 p.m. MEDITATIVE MANDALA Join us for mindful bodies, listening and breathing. Small movements and gentle concentration on coloring will draw you into the present moment. Fridays; 10:30 a.m. CONVERSATIONAL SPANISH Open to all levels of non-native Spanish speakers. Topics are provided for discussion and groups arranged by proficiency levels. HALL: Every other Saturday; 2:30 p.m. (check online event calendar for specific dates) MONTHLY WRITER S EXCHANGE A forum for established and aspiring authors to exchange ideas, discuss issues of interest and offer mutual support. Learn creative ways to pick out your own superhero name, symbols and more! Monday, March 11 SUPERHERO SCIENCE 12 Learn what it would be like to have superpowers using science experiments! Tuesday, March 12 SUPERHERO ACADEMY SUPERHERO ART 13 Learn how to draw your favorite superhero! All supplies will be provided. LEARNING ENGLISH Wednesday, March 13 BUILDING A HERO 14 Can you make a superhero who can leap over tall buildings in a single bound? We ll be using Legos and blocks to build your favorite superheroes. ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) Thursday, March weeks Attend this special event to become officially Superhero Certified! Friday, March 15 FREE Tax Assistance AARP TAX ASSISTANCE Free individual tax preparation and filing on-site. No age or income requirements - just bring your tax documents. No appointment necessary. Each week will build on the previous week, so a commitment to all five sessions is encouraged. Laptop computers will be available or you may bring your personal laptop.
