8 The District lost one of our most dedicated District Directors this year, Cynthia Pridmore. Cynthia was an elected Director from the City of Virginia Beach in Serving as Past Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Treasurer. Cynthia served on the District s Education, Budget, Legislative, Public and Outreach, and Nominating Committees. Cynthia s passion was education. She worked with the District Manager to develop the District s Educational programs both for students and teachers. She was an advocate for outreach to underserved students in the District. She wanted everyone to understand our natural resources and conservation of those resources! Cynthia was dedicated to the District Staff and worked diligently promoting the work of the District. The Board of Directors renamed the District Scholarship after Cynthia Pridmore a few years ago because of her love and dedication to Education. The Cynthia Pridmore, VA Dare SWCD Scholarship! She was not only dedicated to the Virginia Dare SWCD but she served on committees at the Area and State level. Cynthia was the recipient of the The Watershed Connection Award given to outstanding District Directors who make Watershed Connections not only locally but in the State of Virginia. Cynthia attended National, State and Area meetings until her health failed at the age of 97 years old! She attended her last Board meeting a few months before her death. At the end of the day, let there be no excuses, no explanations, no regrets. Steve Maraboli,
