Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., a nonprofit organization, was founded on the campus of Howard University in 1911, with a commitment to service for the betterment of all mankind. The Fraternity, with over 125,000 members, has over 700 chapters across the US and abroad. The Fifth District, whose roots date back to 1919, currently has 31 Chapters and 1,104 members in Tennessee and Kentucky. The men of the Fifth District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. are actively involved in their respective communities as outlined in the Fraternity s mandated programs including scholarship, mentoring, fatherhood, voter resgistration, health initiatives and more. The Fifth District Meeting is the business meeting of the District. More than 300 members are expected to attend the meeting in Memphis, which will also coincide with the 50 th Anniversary of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. s assassination. There will be a number of notable events that will provide great marketing opportunities for our sponsors. 4 HIGHLIGHTED DISTRICT MEETING EVENTS The 70 th Fifth District Meeting Golf Tournament The 70th Fifth District Meeting Golf Tournament will be held at Quail Ridge Golf Course in Bartlett, Tennessee on March 29, Sponsorships are available on a per-hole basis. The 70 th Fifth District Meeting Talent Hunt The 70 th Fifth District Meeting Talent Hunt features live performances by high schools students from across Tennessee and Kentucky. The students compete in categories of dance, dramatic interpretation, vocals, instrumental music, and visual arts. Corporate sponsors will be recognized during the program and a corporate official may offer words of congratulation, encouragement and support at the program. Corporate sponsors will have the opportunity to display a corporate banner/logo and host a corporate information table outside the performance venue. The Omega Grill-Off The Omega Grill-Off will be an inaugural culinary skills competition between the Chapters in the Fifth District. Naming rights are available. Corporate sponsors will be recognized during the program and may have a speaking opportunity. Corporate sponsors will have the opportunity to display a banner/logo and have a tent/table at the competition. The Purple Carpet Ball The Purple Carpet Ball is the formal service award banquet for the 70 th Fifth District Meeting. During the evening, the District will honor Omega men and citizens for their work in the community. Corporate sponsors will be recognized during the even and have an opportunty to address patrons. Corporate sponsors will have the opportunity to display a corporate banner/logo and host a coporate information table at the venue. 4
