1 Tiger Times Holy Trinity Ca t holic School 3815 Oak Lawn Ave Dallas, TX A Note from Mrs. Davis: I hope to see you at the Town Hall Meeting tonight. Dinner is at 6:30 and the meeting starts at 7:00. We will have childcare available in the library. We are having an awards ceremony after Mass tomorrow. Angel in Action and Saint in Training Awards will be given for the second quarter. Honor Roll will be given for first and second quarters. The teachers have notified parents of students receiving the Angel in Action and Saint in Training Awards. The honor roll is for students in fifth through eighth grades. There are two honor rolls. The A honor roll is for students who have all grades of 94% or higher. The A/B honor roll is for students who have all grades of 85% or higher. Catholic Schools Week begins on Sunday with Mass and Open House. The teachers have sent information about the open house in their newsletters. If you speak Spanish, please try to attend the Spanish Mass at 12:30 instead of the Mass your child s class has been assigned. We are in the midst of planning for next school year. I would like input from you on some of these items so we are going to try using Survey Monkey. The time for you to respond after receiving the will be 24 hours. Volume 2, Issue 21 Week of January 26th Welcome to the Tiger Times! Please feel free to contact Miss. Cooper in the front office for questions. mcooper@htcsdallas.org The mission of Holy Trinity Catholic School is to provide each student with the highest quality Catholic education through a well-balanced curriculum emphasizing mind, body and spirit. 1
2 Page 2 A Note From the Office Staff: Newsletter Title There seems to be an unusual number of students who are being sent home from school due to illness. The range of symptoms include: fever, headache, stomachache, sore throat, nasal congestion, fatigue, body aches and chills. These symptoms are vague and could apply to a large variety of illnesses, including strep and flu. If you feel that your son or daughter may have flulike symptoms, please have them evaluated by a physician for a diagnosis. There are medications that can reduce the duration and severity if flu is diagnosed in the first hrs. of the onset of symptoms. Please be assured that extra precaution is being taken to ensure a healthy environment, including additional cleaning of desks and common surfaces. However, environmental sanitation cannot substitute for personal hygiene. Additionally, students are reminded to: Wash hands frequently. (Handwashing is still the single MOST effective way to fight against infection.) Use hand sanitizer (available in every classroom and common room) when a sink is not readily available. Cover coughs and sneezes. Kleenex is available in each room. Do not share food or drink. If you are sick, stay home. Please keep your student home until they are fever-free for 24 hrs. without the use of feverreducing medication. 2

5 Page 5 Tiger Times Want a pizza party for your class? Step 1: Take home gala raffle tickets Step 2: Sell all of your raffle tickets (6 per student) Step 3: Turn in the tickets and money to school. Every class that has 100% participation in selling their raffle tickets will earn a pizza party in early March. The goal is that every class will earn a pizza party. Want to earn an ice cream party for your class? Follow the same steps as above, and if your class is the first one to get to 100% participation, your class will be the only one to earn the ice cream party. We will notify you of each class s status in the weekly newsletter. If you need help selling your tickets, come to sell after each Mass on the weekends. 5
