The College Staff Council, formed in 1968, is for non-academic :employees of the College, a body somewhat equivalent to the Academic Senate for academic employees, it is the sole elected representative body of all the employees in non-academic classifications, it!considers problems and makes recommendations to the administration on matters affecting all or a large segment of its employee constituents, (Individual grievances are handled through regular supervisory chaninels, not through the Staff Council.) Meetings of the persons elected to serve on the Staff Council are held on the third Wednesday of each month* generally in the President's Conference Room, and supervisors and administrators are urged to provide opportunity for consistent attendance to the employee in their area who is elected to this important body. Representatives who find they are unable to attend should appoint a proxy so that their area will not be unrepresented. All staff employees of the College are urged to know who their representatives on the Council are and get in touch with them when they have items to be placed on the monthly agendas. The current Staff Council representatives are: General Administration - JoAnn VonWald, Betty Fogg, Tony Britto; Instruction - Pat Maietta, Lydia Sanchez; Physical Plant Earl Bouchard, Fred Cordova, Herb Fatone; Student Services Barbara Allen, Carolyn Perkins; library - Fran Stromwall.
