2 SJ EU PN TE E- MJ UB LE Y R From the office of the President Dear Parents and Guardians, Let s end this school year with a couple of reflections from Pope Francis: Look after your work, doing it with enthusiasm, humility, competence, passion and with a spirit that knows how to thank God. Take care of brothers and sisters who are weaker...the elderly, the sick, the hungry, the homeless and strangers, because we will be judged on this. On Friday, May 19, fifty four seniors graduated from Trinity at the beautiful Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. These young men and women brought many blessing to our school. Let me cite a few: 55% of the class of 2017 received $2,040,542 in scholarships The class of 2017 gave 6,938 hours of service to our greater community Academic honors were won in the Worldwide Youth in Science and Technology competition, Industrial Technology competitions in robotics, bridge building and architectural drawing and Senior, Evan Montgomery, had a painting that was displayed at the capitol in Jefferson City Students won second place in Cook Around the World at Disney in Florida Football won second place in State Volleyball won district and sectional tournament and were only one game away from the final four in State Girls soccer won districts again this year The Class of 2017 is a well rounded, talented group of you people who will set the world on fire. I can say that because of the answers Mrs. Shipp and I received during exit interviews when we asked How does God fit into your life and how did Trinity help? Here were some of their answers: God is everything. He is always there. Without God nothing is possible Made a promise to God this year I would never doubt him Turn to him in good times and bad My faith has been deepened Trinity helps you learn life lessons/learning from good and bad experiences At Trinity all of the people have shaped me to be the person I am I like that we are all different people but we are all Titans The Class of 2017 will be missed and we wish them only God s choicest blessings as they enter college, the armed forces and the work force. May God bless you and keep you in His care this summer. If I can help you in any way, please call or . Rest up for an exciting time in at Trinity. God s blessings, Sr. Karl Mary Winkelmann, SSND President, Trinity Catholic High School! 2 Trinity Catholic Parent Newsletter

4 J U N E - J U L Y Guidance News Heather Gogel ex. 265 hgogel@trinitycatholichigh.org NCAA Clearing House Are you a possible college athlete at the Division I or II level? If so, I recommend that these juniors register with the NCAA Clearing house at the end of the junior year. This will allow any colleges who have an interest in your student to determine their academic eligibility status for college recruiting purposes. Go to to find information about registering and the requirements for being eligible for college athletics. If so, the time to begin looking into Summer School in your public school district or other ways to complete the needed credit. The Guidance Office at Trinity will receive Summer School information from several area school districts in April, but it is to your advantage to contact your district now to see when their Summer School material will be ready. GETTING REGISTERED EARLY IS IMPERATIVE! When grades are available from second semester of the current year, time will be very short to find the courses your child needs through the public school districts. Credits may also be made up through a correspondence course, or the ACE program.
