3 FBLA Pledge I solemnly promise to uphold the aims and responsibilities of Phi Beta Lambda and, as an active member, I shall strive to develop the qualities necessary in becoming a responsible business leader. FBLA Creed I believe education is the right of every person. I believe the future depends on mutual understanding and cooperation among business, industry, labor, religious, family, and educational institutions, as well as people around the world. I agree to do my utmost to bring about understanding and cooperation among all of these groups. I believe every person should prepare for a useful occupation and carry on that occupation in a manner that brings the greatest good to the greatest number. I believe every person should actively work toward improving social, political, community, and family life. I believe every person has the right to earn a living at a useful occupation. I believe every person should take responsibility for carrying out assigned tasks in a manner that brings credit to self, associates, school, and community. I believe I have the responsibility to work efficiently and to think clearly. I promise to use my abilities to make the world a better place for everyone. Special Conference Notes Conference attendees must wear lanyards, names badges and wristbands to enter all meetings, competitive events, workshops, and entertainment events. Cell phones and other electronic devices should be placed to the silent setting during all sessions and competitive events. The dress code will be in effect for all conference activities. You will find the dress code on the next page and throughout this program. Curfew is at 11:00 p.m. every night. Advisers must check to be sure that all students are in their assigned rooms by curfew each evening. A security guard will be on duty and has been asked to report any misconduct to the local chapter adviser and to the Tennessee FBLA conference staff. Conference delegates must not accept anything to drink or eat from another student, teacher, guest, or visitor. Electronic scrapbooks and hard copy scrapbooks must be submitted at the registration desk upon arrival to the conference. Scrapbooks, job interview materials, and other special projects must be picked up before leaving the conference. Officer candidates and voting delegates should be seated 30 minutes prior to the General Session assembly in the front of the Banquet Room and prior to the election of officers. Campaign literature, handouts, posters, and favors may not be given out in the general meetings. Campaign materials are limited to the designated area in Exhibit Hall A after the opening session. Prior to checking out, advisers must collect all room keys and inspect all rooms to ensure each room is left in proper order. Damages to rooms are to be reported. Students and/or parents will be held responsible for all costs of repairs plus an additional $50 fine if any room is left with litter outside of the waste containers. Hotel checkout is at 11:00 a.m. CC = Convention Center MH = Marriott Hotel Page 3
