6 The state missions offering of the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware has helped start & strengthen 500+ churches across Maryland, Delaware and beyond. 100% of the funds are reinvested in churches like ours for local and global mission impact. The bottom line is that we are united together to love our neighbors and share Christ in our region. What is the Maryland/Delaware State Missions Offering? The annual Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware State Missions Offering sustains ministries not funded through the Cooperative Program IT is a way for our church to participate in the Great Commission strategy specifically for this region A way to start more churches and reach more people for Christ A way to change lives and to develop tomorrow s leaders Our statewide challenge goal this year is $150,000. September 9-16 is a week set aside for prayer for this effort. Prayer guides are available in the lobby to help us unite in prayer. If you would like to participate by donating to the campaign, please place your gift in the offering plate with MD/DE State Missions in the memo area. Designated envelopes are located in the pews. Prayer guides are available at the Welcome Center. Please help yourself to one. 6 PVBC 2018 CALENDAR OF EVENTS Saturday, September 8 Monday, September 10 Monday, September 10 Saturday, September 15 Saturday, September 22 Sunday, September 23 Sunday, October 7 Sunday, October 7 Friday, November 2 Saturday, November 10 Saturday, November 17 Sunday, November 18 Tuesday, November 20 Sat. - Sun., Dec. 1-2 Sunday, December 9 Wednesday, December 12 Sunday, December 16 Wednesday, December 19 Monday, December 24 Church Grounds Work Day MBI Fall Semester Ladies Armor of God Bible Study Neighborhood Canvas Day Caffeine & Octane Car Cruise Sunday School Picnic PVPS Family Day Baby/Child Dedication Service Surviving the Holidays Candy Cane Kids Purse Auction Christian Outdoor Turkey Shoot Business Meeting Thanksgiving Prayer Service God s Call Christmas Program Salt Shakers Christmas Program PV Preschool Christmas Program Adult Choir Christmas Program Little Lights Christmas Program Candlelight Christmas Eve Service In addition to these periodic events, we have weekly and monthly ministries. 7 Loving Our Neighbors Mark your calendars and plan to help us canvas the neighborhoods near the church! We will be giving out free batteries for smoke detectors to the community residents, and asking if there is anything for which we can pray. We will meet at 8 a.m. at the church Saturday, September 15 and then head out to love our neighbors! See You at the Pole Kids AND Parents: Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 26 and plan to participate at a See You at the Pole event at a local school or here at the church for homeschooling families. Let s join in prayer for our students and teachers to be filled to overflowing with the Spirit of God. STUDENTS: Prepare for Your See You at the Pole Gathering You can freely gather for prayer before school, but it's best to let your school administration know about See You at the Pole. See You at the Pole is a student-led event. That means you! Strong student leadership is crucial to the success of your event. Your youth pastor can support you, your parents can pray for you, but you need to take charge and take part in See You at the Pole. 10 LADIES BIBLE STUDY BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 10 Ladies (and teenage girls), you are invited to attend an eight-week Bible study using the book authored by Priscilla Shirer (daughter of Tony Evans). Danielle Bane will facilitate the study. There will be a video presentation each week to be used in conjunction with a book and study guide (available at Lifeway Christian store or Amazon.com). The study will begin Monday, September 10 and will run from 6 to 8 p.m. in room 114. Please sign up on the ladies ministry bulletin board if you plan to attend. PARIS FOUNDATION MEAL PVBC will be feeding the homeless at the Paris Foundation in Elkton on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 4:30 pm. Donations are welcome for hamburger rolls, cup cakes, cookies, 4 large cans of green beans and 4 large watermelons. We serve at least 120 people each time. If you are interested in volunteering to help or donating items, please contact Robin England (443) "Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you" 1 Samuel 12:24 7

8 23 Mark your calendars and save Sunday, September 23 for the annual PVBC Family Picnic! We will meet immediately following the 10:30 worship service to enjoy some food, fun and fellowship! Please plan to bring enough sides, desserts and drinks to share with your family +8 guests, so that any visitors who attend that morning may join us and get plenty to eat. Come on out and join us for some yummy food and good, clean fun! We will have a corn hole competition. We may have a horseshoe competition if someone steps forward and is willing to set it up and manage the event. 8 9
