1 SCHOOL SAFETY PARENT NIGHT April 3rd 6:00 PM Cypress High School Theater Join us for a discussion with the Cypress Police Department on school safety at Cypress High School. We will be covering several topics that are important for you to know as parents and guardians. Topics covered include: Measures being taken to make classrooms safe and secure Training of CHS staff members on active shooters Response of CYPD before, during, and after an incident Reunification of students after an incident How to talk to and prepare your student SEATING IS LIMITED IN THE THEATER IF INTERESTED IN ATTENDING PLEASE REGISTER BELOW Registration will help determine need for additional seating

3 Join the Cypress Farmers Market every Saturday from 9am to 2pm at the corner of Katella and Lexington in the Cottonwood Church parking lot. The market features fresh fruits and vegetables, a variety of prepared foods including fantastic tamales and BBQ, as well as some artisanal vendors selling items such as fresh breads, hummus, honey and handmade soaps.

5 DONATIONS NEEDED FOR EVERY 15 MINUTES PROGRAM Cypress High School staff will soon be partnering with Cypress Police Department and other community members to offer our students the "Every Fifteen Minutes" program, which is an event to dramatically instill teenagers with the potentially dangerous consequences of drinking or texting while driving. HOW CAN YOU HELP? PTSA helps provide snacks for the students and staff throughout this event both in their preparation meetings, and for the days of the event. Please consider donating snack items, such as granola bars, individually wrapped chips, or other non-perishable food. We would also appreciate donations of drinks, including water, soda or other drinks. The items may be dropped off at the Main Office. 8 OVERFLOW PARKING Students with a valid Cypress High School parking permit will be able to park in any of the 60 spots that have been reserved on the northeast corner of the Cypress Community Center parking lot and any of the 54 numbered spots on the south corner of the Oak Knoll Park parking lot. Students who do not have a valid and visible parking permit, or park in any of the non-designated spots will be cited. Please refer to the images below to view the section of these parking lots that have been reserved. Students who utilize this overflow parking will have access to school by walking through the park and the sports fields at the rear of the school. Our Campus Security will be patrolling this area in golf carts before and after school to ensure the safety of our students. Campus Security will not actively monitor these lots during school hours and parking will be at your own risk. As Centurions we want to continue being respectful and courteous to our neighbors and surrounding community. We ask that you please refrain from parking in the residential neighborhoods and commercial parking lots surrounding the school. Students and parents should also note that parking in the neighborhood off Fred Drive and Valley View is by permit only and vehicles without a permit are subject to being cited.

10 The Grad Nite committee would like to invite all parents out to Cypress High School's Grad Nite Fiesta Dinner and Auction on Friday, April 13th. This event is the largest fundraiser for Grad Nite and all proceeds will benefit Grad Nite Tickets are $30 each, $240 to reserve a table for 8 and $5 per ticket to for your chance to win the Mystery Treasure Chest full of prizes worth more than $500! You can find more information and reservation forms at Grad Nite is a safe, sober, fun night of celebration, entertainment, food, and fun for graduating Seniors from Cypress High School. Attendees can win amazing prizes like laptops, televisions, cameras, gift cards, money, and a lot more! The night is filled with great food, entertainment, games and prizes. 12 STUDENT BULLETIN *Students, if you have had an address change, please see Mrs. Kaiser in the counseling office with a current gas or electric bill so it can be changed in Aeries. It is very important that we have your correct address on file, for emergencies and for important mailings. * Make-A-Wish is host ing a Dodgeball Tournament, the biggest fundraiser of the year. Its $20 for a team of up to 5 people. Liability sheets are required to compete. Pick them up at the table in the quad or from Mrs. Espinosa s room. Turn in both the sheets and the money by next Thursday to Mrs. Espinosa s room 220, and you can win a $50 dollar prize at Friday s game. Come on down to support Make-A-Wish! *Arnold Elementary is having a school carnival next Friday, April 6th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This is a great opportunity for our students to earn some volunteer hours and have a great experience with elementary-aged students. If volunteers could arrive at 2:30pm and remain until 7:30 pm that would be appreciated very much. Contact Arnold Elementary PTA if interested! *Attention students and staff: Here is your chance to do a good deed. It s spring cleaning time, so bring all your unwanted clothing of any size to room 222. This clothing drive is to benefit Syrian refugees. We will be accepting clothing from now until April 11th.
