1 Volume 415, August 4, 2017 Stuff the Bus is on Saturday, August 5 th, 2017 at the Paragould Walmart from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Come out on tax free weekend and purchase school supplies that will go to children in need. Thank you to GCT Social Workers for helping coordinate the county wide event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GCT Weekly BEAK GCT Elementary Summer Day Camp has been full of Enriching Summer Activities for students. Thank you to Norma Davenport for the photos.

2 GCT Elementary Summer Plus Kids enjoyed numerous activities of enrichment including riding a zip line. Thank you to Norma Davenport for the photos. District Wide Meeting, Wednesday August 9 th, 2017 GCT Faculty and Staff are Invited to the Back to School District Wide Training that will be hosted at East Side Baptist Church at 529 East Court Street on Wednesday, August 9 th, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. for a catered lunch in the ESBC Fellowship hall compliments of Centennial Bank. The district wide meeting will follow the luncheon from Hopefully every GCT Employee has had a wonderful summer vacation and is looking forward to returning for a successful school year! Hope to see all staff in attendance

3 GCT High School Volleyball team traveled to team camp at the University of Arkansas. They had a great time.

5 GCT High School Volleyball hosted a camp for younger students on July 24-26, GCT Volleyball Coaches, Casey Schatzley, Darlene Horton, and Dean Livingston appreciate all of the students who were in attendance and all of those who support the GCT Volleyball Program. GCT Volleyball coaches celebrate a win at team camp with Krispy Cream Donuts!

6 Thank you to AG for Autism, represented in the photo to the right by Danny Graham who presented GCT High School Teachers, Jessica Rickman, Brandi Benson, and Nikki Smith, with over $ grant funds to use with students. Pictured left with the grant winners is Chad Jordan, High School Principal. GCT appreciates the support of the Ag For Autism program who provided the generous grant funds. GCT Employees are invited to a wedding shower honoring two GCT Staff members. GCT Elementary Teacher, and HS Cheer Coach, Cassie Despain and Jr. High Teacher and Assistant Baseball Coach Chris Johnson, are getting married. They will be honored with a shower on Saturday, August 5 th, 2017 at the GCT High School Community room from 10:00 to 12:00 at a drop in shower. Cassie and Chris are registered at Perfect Touch, Bed bath and Beyond, and Belks. Come shower them with love and support and enjoy a delicious brunch.

Thank you to the GCT Social Workers for participating and coordinating this event that benefits so many STUDENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pictured left is GCT High School Science teachers who enjoyed attending a workshop in Conway, Arkansas and are certainly excited on learning lots of interesting material to use for the school year. Thank you to the GCT Science Teachers for receiving professional development hours during the summer vacation. Pictured right is GCT Superintendent, Gene Weeks who spoke to the Paragould Rotary Club on July 26, Mr. Weeks provided information on the upcoming Millage Campaign on September 19, 2017.

8 A little challenge issued by some of the girls basketball coaches in the 5 AAAAA East was made and conquered by GCT Coach Trey Harding. The video was released on several mediums but here are some highlights of his performance. The GCT Lady Eagles appreciate him taking one for the team and working hard.

10 Greene County Tech School District GCT Coaches attended professional development training hosted at Arkansas Methodist Hospital on Monday July 24 th and Tuesday, July 25 th, organized by Athletic Trainer, Chad Sturkie. Topics in the training included, concussion protocol, excessive heat precautions, sudden cardiac arrest warning signs, care of injuries, CPR recertification, and Defibulator operation.
