1 Excite Night - University of Kentucky with GW, Southeast Missouri, and Ball State Leading Off The George Washington gymnastics team will kick off the 2018 season at the University of Kentucky for a quad meet with Southeast Missouri and Ball State on Friday. The meet is schedule to begin at 7:00 p.m. Taking Notice GW earned its highest preseason ranking in program history when it came in at No. 21 in the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches (NACGC/W) Preseason Coaches Poll. The Colonials are the highest-ranked team from the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL). GW was also tabbed to finish first in the EAGL Preseason Coaches Poll after garnering four first-place votes Rewind GW is coming off its 13th NCAA Regionals appearance in program history, where it set a new postseason scoring record ( ) at the NCAA Morgantown Regional. A veteran returning class of 11 letterwinners is highlighted by 2017 EAGL Vault and All-Around Champion Cami Drouin-Allaire, along with fellow seniors and co-captains Jillian Winstanley, a three-time First Team All-Conference pick, and Sara Mermelstein, a 2017 All-EAGL First Team member. EAGL Elite Senior Cami Drouin-Allaire is coming off of a stellar 2017 season, where she extended GW s run of at least one individual conference champion to four straight seasons when she won both the all-around (39.40) and vault (9.90) titles at the EAGL Championship. It marks Drouin-Allaire s second-ever EAGL Vault championship (2015, 2017) and is the fourth straight season a GW Gymnast has either won or shared the conference vault crown. Her EAGL all-around title marks the first time in program history a GW gymnast has won the individual title. She is GW s first all-around conference champion since Athletic Hall of Famer Devin McCalla won three straight Atlantic 10 titles ( ). Best In The Business Head Coach Margie Foster-Cunningham earned her second straight, and third overall, EAGL Coach of the Year Award after guiding the Colonials to the conference title and a consistent top-20 national ranking throughout the regular season in Quick Facts Location: Washington, D.C.
