2 Elizabeth City State University Elizabeth City State University will hold an open house program on Thursday, April 26 from 6:30-8:00pm at the NEW EMMANUEL CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST at 3546 BEATTIES FORD RD. They will host on-site admission so bring your transcript, SAT and ACT scores! They will also provide information on the $500 NC Promise Tuition Plan.

3 College Visits Information Attention students who participate in college visits. Once you are given your pass to attend from student services it is your responsibility to show it to your teacher. No announcements will be made to remind you or release you from class.

5 CFNC.org Scholarship Section is Now Live The new scholarship section on CFNC.org is now live. You can access it at cfnc.org/scholarships, The new format provides easier access to all scholarships available for the academic year. Check it out today!!

6 Recycling Reminder! This is a reminder that recycling started this semester. Please have your bins outside your classroom doors no later than 9:15 am on your recycling day. Here is a schedule of hallways by date: Monday and 200 Halls, Tuesday and 400 halls, Wednesday and 300 halls, and Thursday and 800 halls. Please remember that only recyclable materials should be in the bins. If a bottle has fluid in it, it is not recyclable. If a paper bag has food in it, it is not recyclable.

7 Titan Seniors: PTSA Scholarship Titan Seniors! The PTSA has $ in scholarship award money for qualifying seniors. If you are interested in applying for a PTSA Scholarship the first step is to JOIN THE PTSA. You can join by going to the Hopewell website and clicking on Membership under the PTSA link. Once you ve joined our PTSA, click on the Scholarships link where you can find the application. Students should complete the application and submit it to Ms. Connor by May 1st, 2018.

8 Titan Spirit Wear for Get your Titan spirit gear for the school year! The Hopewell PTSA, in conjunction with the Hopewell Athletic Boosters, is providing one-stop shopping for your Hopewell spirit gear. Each spirit pack includes: a drawstring bag, a Hopewell t-shirt, a 32 oz. water bottle, an ink pen, 2 pencils, 2 tickets to the first home football game after school begins in August, and a cell phone pocket for the first 225 customers, then a car magnet will replace the cell phone pocket.that s a $50 value for ONLY $25, plus a processing fee! Items will have a Hopewell logo and/or the school name imprinted on them. Spirit packs will be delivered the first week of school in August. Orders are being taken through June 1, Go online to the Hopewell High School home page, click on the PTSA link on the left, then click on Hopewell Spirit Packs. Select the t-shirt size, give the full name of your student, and their grade level for next year, prior to paying. Order your spirit pack today!

9 FAFSA Completion Event The University City Branch of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Library will hold a FAFSA completion event on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Financial aid experts will be available to assist students and families with FAFSA completion.

10 Media Center will be closed Due to an Academy of Engineering event, the Media Center will be closed during 3rd and 4th blocks today. VPS students report as usual.

11 Last Beautification Day Save the Date...join the football team in the last Beautification Day on Saturday, May 12th from 9:00 am-12:oo pm. Signups available at the end of April.

12 AsULead at Appalachian State University Appalachian State University would like to invite rising seniors to apply for AsULead, a selective, on-campus leadership and college information program. AsULead is a four-day summer program for historically underrepresented rising high school seniors that provides the opportunity to develop leadership skills and learn about the college application process (including financial aid, scholarships, essay and résumé training). AsULead takes place on Appalachian's campus July 23 26, and the deadline to apply is May 15. Go to the App State website to apply!

13 Johnson and Wales and Elizabeth City State University. Attention Juniors and Seniors! On Thursday and Friday, April 26 and 27, there will be admissions officers on our campus from Johnson and Wales and Elizabeth City State University. If you are interested in learning more about your opportunities to attend either of these institutions, please come to Student Services to get your pass.

14 Senior Cap & Gown Pictures Do you want professional pictures of your Senior in their Cap and Gown? Lifetouch will be in Hopewell's Media Center this Thursday, April 26th, to do just this. A cap and gown will be provided by the company for the picture, so students do not need their own - the only item students need in order to have their picture taken is a completed picture form filled out in its entirety. Forms will be distributed to Seniors at the beginning of this school week.

15 YearBook Did you miss the opportunity to purchase a yearbook online? Luckily, you're not too late! If you'd like to reserve a yearbook for your Titan, please send cash, check, or a money order made out to Hopewell High School for $80 to Ms. Foster in Student Services. The final yearbooks are being sold on a first come, first served basis. Once all yearbooks are sold, there will not be another opportunity to purchase! Do not wait until it's too late!

16 Marching Band Jamboree May 5th Come one, Come all to what promises to be the largest High School marching band event in the Charlotte area! The Hopewell Titanium Sound band presents it's inaugural Marching band Jamboree. May 5th here at Hopewell s football stadium at 1 pm. Featuring 4 of Charlotte's top marching bands from Vance High School, West Charlotte High School, Mallard Creek High School and the award-winning Hopewell Titanium Sound Marching band! Come get your eat on with Ribs, Fish, fried candy bars and an assortment of other concessions while you see the bands battle it out for bragging rights! Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. $10 for everyone at the gate. See your favorite band member or Mr. Diggs in the band room for tickets. Doors open at Noon! See you there!

17 AP Exam Review Day 2018 AP Exam Review Day 2018 Will be held on Saturday, April 28 th from 9 a.m. 1p.m. On the campus of UNC Charlotte. Registration is not required. Space is limited so plan to come early. Many sessions are repeated. Please visit the Hopewell HS website and the that follows for a detailed schedule and map of the campus AP Review Day Campus Map Parking is free. All sessions are open to student participants and will be filled on a first come first served basis. Some sessions are repeated at various times AP Review Day Schedule of Sessions - Click Here Note: Most of the sessions will be held on East Side of Campus Fretwell. These are the AP courses, that currently have scheduled review sessions. Psychology, Art History, Physics, US History, Environmental Science, Human Geography, Statistics, Computer Science, Calculus, Government & Politics, European History.

19 Seniors in Hotspot Program If you are a senior who is participating in the Sprint wifi hotspot program, you need to return your hotspot as well as the power cord and box to Ms. Wallace in the Media Center during your lunch no later than Thursday, May 24th.

20 Titanium Sound Marching Band Congratulations to the Titanium Sound Marching Band. Under the leadership and direction of Mr. Eugene Diggs our amazing band has received an invitation from Senator Thom Tillis to be an Official Representative of the State of North Carolina in the 2019 America s National Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C. on July 4 th. Please be sure to congratulate members of the band and Mr. Diggs on this amazing opportunity for our students to represent our school in the Nation s capital.
