1 College Family Connection Saint Thomas Aquinas High School will use the College Family Connection from Naviance to assist with our college counseling. College Family Connection enables our counseling office to offer a comprehensive website that you and your child can use to help in making decisions about colleges and careers. College Family Connection is linked with Succeed, which we use in our office to track and analyze data about college and career plans, so it provides up-to-date information that s specific to our school. College Family Connection will allow your child to: Keep track of the process Build a resume, complete on-line surveys, and manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about colleges and careers Research colleges Compare GPA, ACT scores, & other statistics to actual historical data from our school for students who have applied & been admitted in the past Sign up for college visits Find out which colleges are visiting our school and sign up to attend those sessions College Family Connection also lets us share information with you and your child about upcoming meetings and events, local scholarship opportunities, and other Web resources for college and career information. College Visit Info Policy for excusing absences for college visits for seniors. Parents must call Mrs. Jordan in the Attendance Office to inform her of the date of the visit. Students will be required to obtain a statement or letter from a college representative with their signature indicating the date of the visit. The student will return this information to Mrs. Jordan when they return. At that point, the absence will be changed to indicate it is an excused absence. Failure to comply with this policy will impact the senior exam waiver. Seniors can use at the maximum three days for college visits. Students are encouraged to visit colleges on the days when STA does not have class. Please direct all questions concerning this policy to Mrs. Jordan.

2 $cholarship Info The scholarship list for seniors is posted on the College Family Connection website for parents and students to use. All necessary information about a scholarship will be listed, such as the name, school, qualifications, amount and deadline. If applicable, the website will be listed and you can link directly to the website of the scholarship sponsor. Pay attention to deadlines and qualifications. Hard copies of some of the applications will be available in the Academic Counseling Office. The website list will be updated approximately every Friday as necessary. The College Family Connection website is the only source for this list. Go to and enter the student or parent registration code.
