4 Piedmont Technical College Occupational Therapy Assistant Update The OTA Program at Piedmont Technical College has received the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Gold Level for Student Membership. AOTA is fully committed to the success of our profession and reaching the 2017 Centennial Vision goals. AOTA support the students sitting in our OTA/OT classrooms today as the future of the OT professions success, and will live with and carry out the Vision. As our students prepare for their careers and strive to reach their personal goals, it is important that they understand and value the participation and support of being an AOTA member. AOTA s Student Membership Circle is a 3-tier plan that supports academic program student membership initiatives Gold Level, Silver Level, and Bronze Level. Piedmont Technical College OTA program and Medical University of South Carolina were the only two programs out of the 6 programs (5-OTA/ 1- OT programs) in our state that received this award. The OTA program was recognized at the National AOTA Conference this past April 7-9, 2016 in Chicago, IL.
