We will review the mechanics of the deposition, how to word the document requests, and what questions to ask during the deposition to tee up a winning motion to compel if necessary. We will also discuss your duties when representing a corporate entity. SPEAKER: William T. Webb, San Francisco The Ethical Use of Expert Witnesses 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. This presentation explores the ethical issues related to the use of expert witnesses in dispute resolution. Topics include: rules of professional conduct applicable to presenting witnesses generally; how to ethically prepare and use an expert witness; interacting with your opponent s experts; the difference between consulting experts and testifying experts, and implications with respect to discovery; and the ethical and practical constraints on expert witnesses, particularly when the expert is an attorney.
