2 Page 2 Sea~Ha Runner KRA November Meeting $$ The Kilkich Residents Association (KRA) will meet on Monday, November 5 th at 5:30 p.m. at the CIHA office. The meeting is usually an hour long and all Kilkich residents are welcome and invited to attend. If you can t attend the meeting but would like to submit a question or a comment, please KRA at: kilkichresidents@gmail.com. Stop by and see what KRA is planning for the holidays and for the upcoming year! Housing payment pick up is available for elders and persons with a disability. Call CIHA to schedule a pick up. Tribal Flag Raising Ceremony on November 16 th Have you seen the new flag pole in front of the CIT Health Center? The flag pole will soon fly the U. S. flag and the Coquille Indian Tribe s flag. Please plan to attend the flag-raising ceremony on Friday, November 16 th at 2:30 p.m. when the U. S. and Tribal flags will be raised. The ceremony will begin with an Honor Guard and conclude with cake. If you have any questions, please contact Nichole Howe at , ext. 1256, or nicholehowe@coquilletribe.org. Playground Restroom Access Cards Available at the CIHA Office Access to the restroom at the Kilkich playground is available with an access card between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. daily. There is a limit of one access card per household. Lost or stolen cards should be reported to CIHA immediately to avoid unauthorized use or access for which the cardholder may be held responsible. If you are interested in obtaining an access card, please contact CIHA at How To Earn The Maximum Holiday Credit The CIHA Board of Commissioners have approved a 2018 December holiday credit to be awarded to each household on Tribal Lands. The credit ranges from $25 to $150 and will appear on your December billing statement. If you are interested in earning the maximum holiday credit in 2019, the criteria are as follows: 1. Pay on time and in full each month. 2. Pass your annual household inspection. 3. Return all paperwork in full and on time. 4. Have no actionable neighborhood complaints. 5. Have no power, water, or garbage shutoff notices. 6. Have no yard notices. Call the CIHA office, , if you have any questions. Contact ORCCA at Oregon Coast Community Action is still accepting LIHEAP applications. If you haven t signed up, stop by ORCCA at 1855 Thomas Avenue in Coos Bay and pick up an application. Save some money on your heating costs this winter!

3 Volume 21, Issue 11 Page 3 The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring their annual Christmas Food Basket Program again this holiday season to help and serve families in need. ANY FAMILY IN NEED MAY SIGN UP. Sign up at the Human Services Building at 1431 Airport Lane in North Bend across from the North Bend Senior Center in the Raptor Room, #251. The dates to sign up are Monday, November 5 th through Wednesday, November 7 th between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day. You MUST bring current proof of your address when you sign up for a food basket. You will need to pick up your food box on Saturday, December 15 th at the Airport Hangar on West Airport Way in North Bend. For more information, contact Laura Moore at Oregon Coast Community Action, As in years past, The Salvation Army is helping to put food in the cupboard and toys under the tree for many families in our community this holiday season. The need continues to be great; your donations help! Christmas sign-ups will be held during normal Social Service office hours beginning Monday, November 5 th through Friday, November 9 th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at The Salvation Army s Social Service office located at 1155 Flanagan Avenue in Empire. Toy sign-ups are for children age 12 and under. The regular Social Service office will be closed during the week of Christmas sign-ups. All applicants must provide the following: Valid photo ID Contact Misti at for more information. Proof of address IF different from photo ID Proof of ALL persons residing permanently in the household Income verification for the entire household (if you receive SNAP, a printout from the DHS office will work for income verification) NOTE: If you sign up to receive a Christmas Food Basket (Knights of Columbus) or Christmas Toys with any other organization, you will NOT qualify for Christmas assistance through The Salvation Army office. The Salvation Army Is Serving A FREE Thanksgiving Dinner Stop by the Family Worship Center located at 1155 Flanagan Avenue in Empire on Thanksgiving day, Thursday, November 22 nd, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. and enjoy a FREE Thanksgiving dinner. ALL PEOPLE ARE INVITED! Thanksgiving meals will also be delivered to the homebound in the Coos Bay and North Bend area. If you would like to sign up for a homebound meal, please contact Misti at

Reserve a tree to decorate by Nov. 20 th. Trees will be on display in The Mill Casino Hotel lobby from Nov. 27 th through Dec. 3 rd. Over a quarter million lights will illuminate the all-abilities accessible, walk-through light display.
