New York Insurance Association Profile NYIA is the oldest state property and casualty insurance trade association in the nation, tracing its roots back to The current association was formed in 1997 by the unification of the New York Insurance Alliance and the New York State Insurance Association. As the industry changed, stocks, mutuals and cooperatives had far more issues in common than they did differences. It became apparent that the property and casualty insurance industry would be best served by a single voice in New York. That voice is now NYIA. 8 Together toward tomorrow Additional activities. Golf Tournament $130 per person Wednesday, May 30 9:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. The NYIA Annual Golf Tournament will be played on the Saratoga Spa Golf Course. Located 3 miles from the confrence hotel, the course is nestled amongst the majestic pines of the historic Saratoga Spa State Park, and is rated four stars by Golf Digest s Best Places to Play. Golf will kick off with a light breakfast and putting contest qualifier at 8:00 a.m., with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start for the tournament. Proper golf attire is required. Soft spike shoes only, no metal spikes allowed. Please note $20 of each golf registration fee will be contributed to NYIA PAC. Contributions made to the NYIA PAC are not tax deductible as a business expense. Please be advised that only a limited number of rooms have been reserved for early arrivals on Tuesday, May 29, Be sure to book your room early if you plan on golfing! Pre-registration is required. 9 Saratoga Springs Historical Tour FREE Thursday, May 31 2:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. The tour will begin at the Saratoga Springs Visitors Center, a refurbished railroad depot. As the walking tour proceeds to Congress Park and down Broadway, our guide will depict the brief history of Saratoga s founding father Gideon Putnam. We will have the opportunity to taste one of the most famous springs as our guide provides a history of the park and various points of interest including the Canfield Casino, returning to Broadway we will discuss the colorful characters that left their mark on this small city; those who came to see and be seen and those who stayed and built the village. Photo Booth & Contest FREE Thursday, May 31 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. Come join in the fun! Stocked with hilarious props, we encourage you to round up your colleagues to make memories together. Use your creativity to commemorate your Saratoga experience! A prize will be awarded for the funniest photo. The tour will continue north on Broadway with a stop for refreshments at Druthers Brewing Company, a local craft brewery and restaurant. After refreshments the tour will resume with a stroll up Broadway to the four corners and will conclude where Broadway meets North Broadway, as our guide tells the chilling story of the murder of the century in the late 1800 s.
